A Reliable Wife

Just finished reading A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick. It was an interesting book. It didn't suck me in as much as I would like it to, but not boring. The story was about a man who placed an ad for a "reliable" wife. A woman, Catherine, answered the ad. She was not who he thought she would be. Overall, there are three main characters. Each with an agenda.

Getting Ready for the Lunar New Year

Went with my mom this past weekend to Garden Grove/Westminster area... mainly to buy my plane ticket. But the pre-new year festivities started. Flowers for sale and illegal gambling! It's funny to watch. They would play, but once someone gives them a signal that security or police was coming, they would clean up shop! Quick too! :-P They looked at me funny when I walked by snapping photos.
I also bought firecrackers. The kind they use for the new year. 1,000 little firecrackers on one long string. :-P

Noodles Review....

For Christmas, my friend J.P. gave me a box of noodles (woohoo!). Not of one kind, but a variety to try. So far I had some...and yea....This noodle was actually pretty good. It smelled like Udon. It came with a dried "fried" bean curd. Didn't eat it...

This had an odd smell to it. Didn't taste that great either.
It's ok.. not very full-filling.
Left a bad after taste!

CHA Super Show

Before I start... look at that!!!! It was raining so hard that it went into the air duct (?) and into the attic. My ceiling was wet, arg!
Went to the CHA Super Show last weekend. HAD A BLAST!!!!!!! But did not go to CHA :-(
I loved the fact that it is everything... not only scrapbooking. There was knitting, sewing, painting, etc. Shopping was great too! :-P I can't wait to go again next year... but I heard that it will be held at the LA Convention Center.

On Friday, I went around 3ish. Did a lot of make and takes... and majority were free. Got a Making Memory apron. Wanted to get the Cricut chef hat, but they ran out. On Sat, I attended an all day Copic Certification class.... went into the convention hall during lunch, hoping to get a Cricut chef hat, but they ran out. :-( So mad! I was only mad because I saw a lot of kids wearing them. It's great that they can join in and stuff... but come on! It was meant for the adults and if they get caught wearing it, they win a prize. Kids can't win. Oh well... just have to go out and get my own chef hat. :-P I only did one class, which was the Fiskar's Garden Party. It was awesome, got LOTS of goodies. Was really tired, so didn't enjoy it as much as I should.

One of my favorite make and take was the watch. It only cost $6! It was awesome... so I bought several beads kits. :-P

Overall, I highly recommend the Super Show. Next year, if I have a choice between taking a Friday off for Expo or Super Show, I would definately do the Super Show. I wished I would've signed up for more classes... but the Copic Certification class was an all day thing.

Crazy Tuesday!

Today was a crazy day! A HUGE storm came out of no where. Around 1ish, it the sky was completely dark and it poured like there was no tomorrow. We actually had a tornado warning.. well in the coastal areas. BUT IMAGINE THAT! Tornado warning in the OC. Crazy! An even bigger one is suppose to come in tomorrowish or Thursday. I hope not tomorrow.....

Well... I can say my stamp inventory is somewhat done. Now to figure out how where I am going to put them. I want them all in one location. Thought about stamping all of my Studio G stamps... then I was like screw that! I have WAYYYY toooo many!!! Might photocopy them because I really want a sheet of what I have, instead of stamping every single image. Moving on to organizing my kits and things to altered (chipboard albums, etc.).

I am sooo excited about CHA coming up. I plan to go the Super Show on Friday after work. I signed up to be a part of a focus group. Then on Sat, I signed up to be in an all day Copic Certification class and the Fiskateer Garden Party "class". Thought about signing up for the all day crop for the world's biggest crop, but I won't be there, so what's the point? I am looking foward to the event...but I think we won't get to see all the cool new stuff.... going to be another scrapbook expo? I kind've want to go to the actual CHA. Dah well...

Scrapbook Expo Weekend

Had a fantastic weekend! Lots of great classes as well as SHOPPING!!!! Lets start with the classes... As always, I am the teacher's pet. So I have nothing made... just the kits...
1. SEI's An Irresistibly Intriguing...
"Vacation/travel" layouts, recieved a kit to make 6 layouts (3 two page layouts), all three were very similiar but with different themes (travel by ship, travel by car, travel by plane). You learned to create a pocket where you pull the journaling out and the die cut also moves. Cute.

2. Quick Quotes's Hang It Up
Made a 16x20 canvas to hang up. As always, I *heart* Quick Quotes! We worked with this neat paint. It is a metallic color. Very pretty, need to go out and buy it (Michael's here I come!)

3. GCD's 6 pages in 60 minutes
The class managed to make all six pages. Very simplistic, perfect for beginners. The paper's were very pretty. I like some of the embellishments that was used.

4. Quick Quote's Magic Moments
Made layouts, forgot how many... I think four? I could be wrong. But it was cute. :-)

5. SEI's Expanding Album
You basically took their 12x12 album in a box and expand upon it by adding extra goodies and changing layouts around. You added extra pockets on the outside of the page protector. I like this because it teaches people to take something that is "pre-made" and be creative by adding more to it. Get people out of their bubble.

6. Basic Grey's June Bug
Basic Grey always have cute papers! For this class, we several layouts. We had to cut a pattern paper to create embellishments for a solid pattern paper. The layouts were cute. I believe this was the instructors first time teaching this class...or overall.... during this class we had a battle of the speakers.. *sarcasim* joy...

7. Basic Grey's Lemonade Live with Intensions
Cute mini album... just a repeat of the same layout using different pattern papers on each page.

8&9. Outdoors and More Co.'s Oh Baby Girl & Oh Baby Boy
Two seperate classes... but similar concept. Using those chipboard letter mini-album. For each class you get two sets of chipboard letter album. One for baby and one for child. The class was very small....

10. Tatter Angel's Journey Travel Album
Made a mini album and learned techniques for Gimmer Mist. Also got to see Glimmer Glam in person. Liz got an ELMO (a document camera) for the projector so she was able to demo and project for all to see. Glad she did because it was so hard for her to teach and people in the back can't see.

Overall, the classes weren't that bad. The location, as always, sucked. Most of the classrooms were outside in tent. And it was cold!

Shopping was extremly awesome! LOTS and LOTS of deals and discount EVERYWHERE!!! Got this huge pack stuffed with over a hundered dollars worth of goodies from MAMBI for only $12... so I bought two. Got a bunch of Marah Johnsons' metal embellishments in the dollar booth. There was this booth called The Button Farm, that sold the mose BEAUTIFUL mini-albums project kits. I wanted to get a few but could not afford it, so I only bought one for now. Found some neat hunting and shooting stickers and die-cuts. Bought this kit to make a really neat necklace, using glass squares. Yes I could've probably used Tim Holtz's version, but these were thicker.

The food was horrible. Parking sucked. People who don't know how to park....suck.

Next thing to look foward to... CHA! Woohoo! I will be attending part of Friday and a little bit on Saturday (will be doing a Copic Certification class all day).

After doing teacher's pet for so long... I know just about everything.... I would like to eventually teach. But for now, teacher's pet it is... but darn it! People are slowly buy surely starting to figure out how to sign up when the window opens....

Scrapbook Expo Here I Come!

I have a lot of stamps!! A LOT!!!! I still have a lot to go. But, I think I am going to finish the last big box and hit my dollar stamps another time. I want to scrap... yes I do! My score sheet looks pathetic.

Happy New Year everyone!!!!

This post will be pictureless... I am in the process of moving everything to the external hard drive, so I can format my labtop and upgrade to Window 7. For right now the pictures are on my cameras.

New Year's Eve:
Me, Tony, and me Hunny went to Dave and Busters at the Block, since we had a blast last year. Well.... it sucked! For several reasons! First, we decided to go there for their new years party. Well..... no party! :-( Secondly, the food was horrible. I got a shrimp pasta dish.... the noodles tasted overcooked or it sat in water all day! Tony had his friend to hang out with. Me and me Hunny went and saw Sherlock Holmes. It was actually really good. I highly recommend it.

New Year's Resolution:
I plan on sticking to it!!!! I do it every year and never stick to it...

1. Budget and save money and pay off bills!!!! This is a must!
2. Cut down on soda. I reallllllly should.
3. Cut down on french fries.
4. Exercise more. I'm fat and need to loose the weight...... well... be more tone.
5. Scrap more! Since I didn't this past year. Just for this, I am going to keep track of every single projects and layouts I did this year. I plan on doing Project 365 again this year.... but using Project Life by Becky Higgins. I also want to make a card a day. I bought the book "A Card a Day." Plus, I need to use my stuff, I have WAY TOOOOO MUCH!

I'm trying to organize myself as well as my scrap area. I start with my stamps this week. I am making an inventory of all of my stamps. So far... I am half way done. *what have I gotten myself into?!?!*

Year in Review
Well... let see here.... completed the masters program.... noticed lately that whatever I am thinking of something, it doesn't quite correlate with what I type. I noticed this when I typed my papers. Dah, could be me.....had a lot of ups and downs this year.....went to my first private retreat *Quick Quotes* and enjoyed it, plan to go again next year.....tried the tactical shooting "competition"......construction around the house, got new windows, a/c unit, found termites in my bed frame *yuck*.....got a new puppy, named her Egg Roll.... Hunny recently got two Beagle Puppies *Lady Bird and Daisy* so cute! will post pics later.....hosted several swaps *realize that I don't like swaps for several reasons*....was pink slipped....rehired later, thank God!!!!......did evolution of dance with Gina and her class for talent show.....danced with Adam and his class for talent show also....Went to CHA and met Jane Seymour!....Made a few dish from Julia Child's cookbook.....Completed BTSA.....became GATE Certified.....my sister came home.....my sister left.....
