I thought it went very well.  We talked about using stickers and being creative with titles.  We also talked about using punches.  I taught the ladies how to make a lolli-pop flower and swirl flower.  :-)

Using Tim Holtz Rosette die

I recently decided to buy the new Tim Holtz Rosette die. Yes, I can make this without using a die. It can be done (cut a 1"x12" stip, fan fold, glue, push down, punch a two inch circle). But if I make it by hand, it's not even. This die gives it an even look.

*sorry for the sideways pictures*

For my third (of four) SDU class, we talked about titles. So I had the students make some rosette and spelled out out "joy." Perfect short title for a layout.

Yes...

We like to dress alike :-)
Black shirt..... and matching (yes, the color is slightly different) 5-11 tactical pants. Lots of pockets!

Signs

Here are some signs I made for my Michaels store....I don't like my grass.... oh well...
The gifts are missing bows... I told to manager to ask the flower lady to make them, and he did not... I make ugly bows, so I didn't even want to attempt.

Sanrio Pop-Up Tour

I was lucky enough to have the day off to attend the Sanrio's Pop-Up tour. It was a long wait but got some goodies and bought some goodies. :-)

Would love a truck like this!

Would love a SMART car like this!

My First SDU Class

Had my first class today at Michaels. To be honest.... I didn't expect to have any students. The Michaels that I am assigned to doesn't advertise. The display board that I made is sitting in the classroom, where no one sees it. I called in to see if anybody signed up, well two people did! Today was scrapbook basics.... aka into to it, albums, and matting. It went well! :-)

Finally.....

I am done!

Brads and Eyelets Storage

For those of you who are wondering how I store my brads and eyelets...
Hmm... I wish there is a way to flip the image on Blogger.... I have two of these "binder," one for my brads and one for my eyelets, plus misc. embellishments. I store them by color.

Brad Setter Tool

Got this tool at Michaels the other day. I thought that it was interesting as well useful. It is pink (bleck). It has a piercer on one side and a leg seperater on the other side. Yes the hand is twisted. It is that way for gripping purposes.
Poker.... to create holes. It comes with a cover.

You would use the side to seperate the brad legs and fold down. As you can see, I tried three different sized brads.

Overall... I thought it was a good tool. Yes... I could always use my nails to seperate the legs...but I don't always have nails, plus I have poke my self numerous times try to split the legs (especially the small ones).

Hot Pot

While in China, my sister took us to a place called Hot Pot. It's like Shabu-Shabu...but better. Well, we managed to find one in the US... Monterey Park to be exact.
Hunny popping the egg.

Soup base. The right side is super spicy! :-P

Some amazing plushies

Just had to share :-) Zombie Hello Kitty!
Got this for Egg Roll.... it was soooo cute and so soft, did not want to give it to her... .but I did.

HS Reunion

Earlier this month was my 10 yr. high school reunion. It was held at a hotel and organized by two alumni. They did a really good job, despite the number of former students who showed up (about 20). I guess the only downside is that rather than organizing it through the alumni program, they advertised it through Facebook. But I will give them credit for doing it, when the person who was suppose to organize it never did. It was a Mardi Grai theme (our pep-week theme). There were some food, alcohol (of course), dancing, and a photo booth (amazing!). My Hunny and I danced like we never danced before! We ran into old friends (*smiles*). Some looked the same, some changed, some REALLY changed (like our friend Eric), and some...well I guess once a B**** always a B****. But that is what they chose to be, then so be it.

Went to the homecoming football game. The football team was on a winning streak, plus there was suppose to be a lot of people. Saw the band perform *smiles* and it reminded me of the good old days. I REALLLLLLLY wish I have a video of my old field shows. :-( Have some pics (when year book had a photo sale).

Evolution of a Scrapbooker

I love this... found this on Susan's blog

1. "Cut a picture? You've got to be kidding!"
2. "Well those sure are cute pages. I'm not that creative."
3. "You have IDEA BOOKS? Let me see."
4. "I guess I'll need an album, some adhesives, and paper."
5. "Oh, and I'll also need some templates, stickers, die cuts, & one of those trimmer things."
6. "I can't get my page to look exactly like the one in the book!"
7. "You mean I have to write in my album I will need some pens. What should I write?"
8. "I finished my first page. Do you like it?"
9. "You know I have a ton of zoo pictures, and Jr. needs his school pages done; I need another album & some more paper."
10. "You have printed paper? And precut paper? I'll take one of each!"
11. "NEW STICKERS? I'll take some!"
12. "NEW DIECUTS? I'll need those!"
13. "A NEW TOOL! I NEED THAT!"
14. "A NEW IDEA BOOK? GIVE ME THAT NOW!"
15. "Wow- even bags and binders to get my supplies organized? I definitely need those!"
16. "Sorry honey, you'll have to make dinner- I'm off to a crop!"
17. "Clean socks are in the dryer!"
18. "HOLD IT! I HAVE to get a picture of that for the scrapbook."
19. "Would you please wear this shirt? I have the cutest paper to use in my layout and that will match perfectly!"
20. "YES, I came up with the idea myself."
21. "YES, that is my own handwriting."
22. "YES, I make time to scrapbook."
23. "Honey, we need to add a room to the house for my Scrapping room."
24. "Life is crazy. I just need to crop!"
25. Tax time: "Yes, scrapbooking is a medical deduction--it's my THERAPY."

Where would you place yourself? I think I am at #24. Even though I haven't had the chance lately to scrap... but I do try to make some time for myself and scrapbooking helps with my crazy life. :-P

Strange California Weather....

We went from extreme hot to cool and rain. Well.. if it rains tomorrow, I will make it a point to scrap since I can't take Egg Roll to the dog park. She's so sad... :-P I will scrap after I come home.... no thinking about work. Just be creative... plus I need to call Michaels.

Blog Book

Found a really cool website that can take your blog postings and turn it into a book :-)

My Scrappy Update

Hello world! Well... not much of a scrappy update, sad to say. I haven't really had the chance to scrap like I wanted to. But I do... was stressed out one day, made a layout and I was happy in the end. I think I am annoyed at my area again... I really need to declutter my area. I really want to participate in some kind of a scrappy garage sale... but every single scrap store around me closed. I still have Wooten, but she doesn't even have classes. But I love walking around that store! Have to Oasis... but she doesn't seem to open on weekends. There is the Depot... but I dunno. They don't even have a website. Recently got this at the Bee before it closed, the Distrezz-it-all. This is a motor distressing tool. Kind've like the one with the single blade that Heidi Swapp and Tim Holtz created... except this can do more than one paper, cardboard, chip board. Tim did not like this tool, it was "noisy" during the CHA debut... I wouldn't see why not, this tool has power! Previously, I thought about buying it... was still undecided. My friend Jennifer Priest brought one to her class and I got to use it. I feel in love with it. Let's just say I liked the grinding noise.... talk about a de-stresser! But the biggest thing I love about the tool is that it catches all the little fluff. The #1 reason why I hate distressing is the fluff.... it gets alllllll over me. Well my friend... no more!

Doily #?.... only about 6 more to go and I am done. I did a lot of sustitution. But I still like it.

Found new punches at Joanns. I got th eone where you can create a postage stamp look and stitches. So cute! :-) They also had a notebook border punch... but I already have a similar one (EK Success).
Like I said in my previous post, I am now SDU certified... will hopefully teach at a Michaels soon.

darn it!

so i had a scrappy update.... and blogger didn't let it go through... something with editting at the same time, etc. so will do it tomorrow... going to bed.

Some Life Updates

Had been pretty busy since my last posting. Scrapping? no... just life in general.
My Hunny is back on his diet and P90x. He gets one free day. So we went to 50/50, where the burger is half meat and half bacon. It was really good. A bit toooo much for me. Hunny got the spicy burger, I only had a bite and that was spicy! They also had this dip called the Vampire dip. The dip consisted of artichoke (?), garlic, parmasean cheese and mozerella cheese. SO GOOD!!!
I watched my first episode of Hoarder... and yikes! So my goal is to declutter. I realllllllly want to get rid of a lot of stuff. I just have wayyyy tooooo much stuff, in my opinion. I organized my scrap area... but I don't like it. I need to fix it. It is still cluttered. Plus I saved a lot junk that I just need to throw out. I decided to get rid of the majority of my books. Most likely post them on Craigslist. I also want to gather my DVD collection and put them into a binder.

Went to Disney recently with my friend. Checked out all the new Halloween stuff... had some yummy churros ($3.50!).

Yes, I like eatting burnt hotdogs with white rice. Totally forgot that I liked this.

Yes the picture is crooked... But Lady Birdy recently injured herself. Both Beagles were in heat. Apparently they got into a fight. Bird had about an inch rip on her ear... plus an ear infection. So we got the cone of shame and put it on her so she won't scratch her ear and make it worse. She is all better now.
Busy with work. Busy, busy, busy.
I am now a SDU certified instructor. Will be teaching classes a Michaels. :-)

Doily #9

Did managed to find time this past month to make on doily... really want to finish this project.

Lots going on....I suppose...

Well.. it has been a while since I updated or blogged.... Well I guess there was a lot going that I could not get on line... or just plain lazy.

Let see here... in a nutshell,

Rehired at Disney, doing guest research. Get to deal with a lot of jerks.

Landed a TOSA job. Woohoo!

Celebrated my Hunny's birthday, took him to Boiling Crab. Yum!

My sister left... ate a Boiling Crab before she left. Yum!

Grandpa died. :-(

Had issues....

I really want to clean under my desk, so messy! Once I get myself organized, will scrap a little more. Need to... just haven't been inspired...

Some updates

The small dog side of the the dog park opened recently. Took Egg Roll. She sniffed around and rolled around in the grass. Now lets see how long the grass will last... Shop Hop started yesterday. Went to a lot of stores and got a lot of charms and make-and-takes. Got a lot of goodies too :-)

My Hunny's bro started working at the range.

I started my job at Disney.

Want to scrap more... but have been so irritated with my scrap area for some odd reason... need to reorganize and rethink.

Martha Stewart's circle cutter

Bought the new circle cutter at Michaels today. I can't remember the price...but I used my coupon! :-P The circle cutter can cut a 4 inch circle to 12 inches at 1/8 increment. The center is used to store extra blade. I love the fact that the blade cover is bigger and easier to handle. Notice the big plastic circle? Before, it didn't not have that. Once I sliced my finger because it fell off and I didn't notice it. So the big circle tells me that the safety cover is on.
The knob with the blade sits locked and covered. You pull the knob up to adjust the size of the circle (took me forever to figure that out... didn't read the instructions :-P) The arm of the ruler contains fuzz on the bottom (reminds me of a brush). You turn your know and there you have it! I highly recomend a glass mat. Cuts smooter. I have two! :-P

New EK Punch

So grumpy today... everywhere I go, horrible customer service!!! HORRIBLE!!! Waited at a Burger King to get a coke slurpee... which is not available.... for 10 minutes to get a drink. People at Bank of America was just plain rude. A man told me that he just closed his account because the service was just plain horrible. Went to a Michaels by me, suppose to be a nice Michaels... but they are slow to get any products! Went to a different Michaels (because I need to get toner at Office Max) and found that they had new products. Woohoo! This is the new large punch, which made it debut at CHA. Retailed for $17.99 but I used my 40% off coupon.
Here is the new punch next to the small one, so you can see the size difference. Pretty large. There were a few other ones, but I liked this one. :-)

Doily #3, 6, 7 & 8

Blog Hop result will be post on Aug. 2nd... in the mean while, my doilies (aka, Christina Middlecamp's tutorial/project). Once again, Blogger decided to flip my images. Did not mean to upload the images sideways. I managed to complete the first two rows. So far this is what the complete project looks like. This is doily #7. Once again, did not have a lot of items that Christina used in her doily. Here is my interpretation, aka using what I have. Not my favorite... oh well.
Doily #8... was mad that I was not able to find my 1 inch circle punch (need to reorganize and label everything, again!). I went out and bought the Making Memories Flea Market chipboard & clear clock faces at Target. Always looked at it...but never had a reason to buy them... now I do! :-P

Doily #3... didn't want to do this project without using the exact blue flowers that Christina used. I like the way this one came out :-)

Doily #6.... Do you see the blue? Well, it's suppose to be layers of scrap blue papers... but it is covered by everything else that you can't tell... oh well :-P
