Calendar make and take

I don't remember the company/store that did this make and take. Cute desk calendar. Only cost $6.00. We used the bind-it-all to bind the pages together. I accidentally punched two pages on the wrong side. DOH!

"Friends" book

This was a make and take at the expo. I can't think of the store/company name. They said that they will make a new word for next year. YaY! I think I need to put a bunch of heavy books on top because it won't close. Each letter is a page. This only cost $5.00!!! So I only did this and one other make and take. The others were way too simple, cost too much, or I just wasn't interested in making it.

Beautiful Sunset

I was driving home from Cost Co. today and the sky looked amazing... so I had to take a picture of it. I tend to do that all the time. I wonder if people are wondering if I am taking pictures of them or their car?

Ontario Expo

Yesterday and today, I went to the Scrapbook Expo at the Ontario Convention Center. Today, Linda went! :-) I took 7 classes, which I will post some pics as soon as I finish putting together the projects.

Friday....

I got there around 9-ish. I would've been there a little earlier, but I stopped at Kinkos first. I decided to enter the layout contest. This was my first layout contest. I used my layout that said "No Windows and No Doors." But I didn't win, oh well. I did two make and takes. The first one was a small calendar and the other was a "friends" book that was so popular at Costa Mesa. They said that for 2008, they will use a different word for the make and take. So, I need to remember to hit their booth first! I was the teacher's pet for four classes. I did the "Celebrate Sisterhood", "Basic Grey", "Shabby Chic", and "Magic Memory." I liked all of the project. I will post pics ASAP. In the Magic Memory class, we made an explosion box. I was amazed at how much people were struggling! I actually have pics for the Shabby Chic project.

Pretty basic but cute. We used a template for the "frame." It was also shown on the DYI (?) show. But the thing I really liked was this pointy tool. It looks like a paper piercer but it acts like an X-acto knife!!!! It is great because I can use plastic template and not cut it from using the X-acto knife. I hate it when I do that, it messes up the template! (Will post a pic of it soon).

Also, the pic above (me and my sister), was from a Rusty Pickles class. I did the 6x6 "I Have" mini album and she did the "Dog" accordion mini album. She did pretty well.

Saturday...

Like I said, Linda came along. I had three regular classes. (I went to the teacher's pet desk to get info for a room, the lady thought I was doing more teacher's pet classes today and was happy to see me. Apparently, I was extremely helpful and people gave positive comments about me. I guess she wanted me to help other teachers too.) I did the Quick Quotes 3D canvas class. It was a neat project. But the quotes doesn't pertain to me. I don't have kids, nor grandkids. But I decided to use the kids quote and plan on giving it to me Hunny's mom for Christmas. I did the Rusty Pickle's "I have" class (ran into Sheila, my CKU bus tour seat buddy) and "Blooms" class. I would've like the Blooms class, if we didn't have to work with burlap. Messy!!! Especially when you cut it up. I was really hoping Lance would teach, since I haven't had him as an instructor, but he wasn't there. :-(

Shopping...

I did pretty well... didn't go crazy! :-P I spent like $18 at the dollar scrapbook booth. Bought one Cricut font cartridge - "Cuttin' Up". Bought one Pioneer 3 ring album ($15), found another booth that had a different brand of 3 ring album and bought those also (2 for $15!). One booth had ribbons ($.50 a yard, certain ones $1 a yard), so I bought like $15 worth.... but I need to use my ribbons!!!! Got some Quikutz, a tree, a penguin, and a dress (the summer release). Decided to buy 20 pillow boxes (plan on using them for X-mas presents). I didn't find Ranger's Industry frames. :-( I bought a few other nic-nacs. (Or however you spell it) Oh yea, I decided to buy a kit to finish the backside of the Basic Grey's project. (Sucks that we had to do that... but the class was not expensive).

Like I said, I'll post pics later! :-)

Southern California Burning....

This week, majority of Southern California was on fire!!!! The heat, dry weather, and Santa Ana Winds did not help one bit. I believe it was Monday night, really strong winds woke me up!!! Winds that I haven't felt for a very long time!!! Today, when I drove to a school, one of the tree in front of a house was knocked over!!! The roots were showing! The kids couldn't play outside due to winds and smoky air. Here are some pics:

Friday

Lets see here..... the stinking weather is starting to warm up again! ARG! It is suppose to be hot this weekend. EW!

I subbed all week... saw a different set-up for a kinder class. For one class, half would come early for language arts, then you would repeat again in the afternoon for the other half. Early bird, late bird... It's pretty nifty in my opinion.

Today, I subbed for a 6th grade class..arg....nuff said.

Yesterday evening, I went to a layout class at Paper Pansies. Below is what I made, isn't it cute? :-P The pocket opens up to hold four 4x6 pictures.

Sunday... shopping with coupons!

I get this from my mom... but I love it! Shopping with coupons! You can save so much money! Went to Ralphs today. Spent $51 in groceries. At the bottom of the receipt, it said that I saved $68.42 by using Ralphs Club, coupons and double coupons. Oh Yea!

Also went to Toys 'R Us with Tony. Games were on sale (typical Tony). BUT! I found the board game Outburst! remix. I have been looking for that game for a while too! It is the updated version of the game. Instead of being $24.99, it was on sale for $14.99! What a day!

And a picture of my bike! Also, will write about the conference I went to later on. I also have new LOs and I will post those later on also.

Addams Family tv series

Larry got my the first dvd set and found on Amazon that set #2 and 3 it out. Spiffy! Dharma and Greg, the tv show, needs to come out with my dvd!

MJ's last pics

Two News to Share

I have two things to share... no pictures.... One good and one sad.

Sad first.

Yesterday, MJ (our hamster) was put to sleep. :-( For the past few days, she was sleeping and hanging out at the bottom of her cage. Joey's mom noticed that MJ was dragging her legs. So Angela took her to the vet yesterday. It turns out that she had a stroke and her legs were paralyzed. Angela did not want MJ to be in pain, so she was put to sleep. :-(

Happy news.

Joey surprised me with a new bike today. For the past week, Joey and I went to Sports Authority and saw this bike we really liked. It was a bit pricey, in my opinion; but what I wanted. :-) We tried looking around, but nothing too super. Joey didn't think I look too great with a mountain bike. It is a beach cruiser bike that is light blue with flowers all over. So pretty. Me wuv me Hunny!

Sunday

What is with the weather? First it is cold, then it becomes hot. Then back to cold, then back to hot. ICK!

Yesterday, I was in the mood to make cards. Actually, I was in a creative mood. Made some cards....then a LO... then more cards. I made one other thing, but I don't plan on posting it yet, until I add the pictures.

I bought a neat little gadget at Hot Topic. It is called Music Marker. I take the little device and record a song (up to 10 sec.). I upload it onto this website and they will identify the song for you!!!! I tried it on a couple of songs and it works! Very cool!

Went to Frys and Camelot today with my Hunny. We wanted to go to the batting cages. They used to have a batting cage. Not anymore. But we did play some games. I just love it when my Hunny sticks his tongue out. He does that when he is thinking or concentrating. Isn't he cute?

Lastly, my little MJ. She is getting old. Well... we had her for almost two years now! The life span of a hamster is about two years. :-( She is loosing hair around her behind, due to aging. :-(

Yay!!!!

I can now log into my blog! YES! It was stinking Internet Explorer! I used the help option... finally... and I downloaded Firefox. Plus I don't have to leave misc. comments on my sister's blog in order to log in.

Thursday....

I feel like poo today. I don't know why. I just do. I probably do, but I just want to say I don't know why.

Ugly Betty tonight. <-- awesome!

Some random pictures:

1. From the calendar I made
2. A LO that I made. I love this frame because it is a shadow box. I can open and close the lid. It makes it so much easier to change out LOs without having to take down the frame.
3. Mongolian BBQ.... Gengis Khan.... very yummy!
4. While driving on the freeway, I saw a brownish haze in the sky. I decided to take a picture of it. I thought it was smog, but it's probably from the fire in the Corona area.

Pictures!

Look at that! All words and no pictures... Well... here are some pictures! A couple of layouts I created. A picture of my brother actually doing his homework! (I gave him the nick name Troll because he would sit at his computer allllll day playing games.) A picture of MJ! (My hamster)

Now we will continue with our regular broadcasting

So.... READ 180 is growing. More and more kids are being added. Which is good but can also be bad. The ones who have been in the program for a month is doing just fine. Except that we have to stop (well sort of) and show the new kids how the program works. Which cause the other kids to be bored. So I created two different rotations, one rotation for the older kids and the other rotation for the newer kids. So, it is working out. BUT! I have Austin! He was being goofy yesterday, but today he was actually good. His behavior would flip flop. Then I saw Jessica. That girl is still very snobby! Arg.

I am being requested by teachers, which is nice. :-) More sub jobs for me. Which is fantastic because I need to pay bills! :-P Maria is trying to get me a position in Inglewood. The position would be great because we would be able to carpool and teach the same grade. Kris, a Kinder teacher, wants me in her position when she retires. :-)

CK's November mag. came in the mail today. It looks ok so far. I ordered the October kit of the month. The project was created by Ali Edwards and looked very cute!

Still feel like shaking my fist

*shakes fist*

I looked back at some of my old postings... it's not awful! I probably have a few spelling error. We all have spelling errors. Either by forgetting the spelling (and well all do it!) or just typos. Yes, my second to the last post (Sunday) had some error that I fixed to make that person happy. BUT! Like I have said previously, I write, I rant, I share my day. This is not English class.

*continues to shake fist*

Just in case people don't understand what I am trying to say:

sux = sucks or sucked
arg = a mad noise or a pirate noise
ggrr = another mad noise
YaY! = cheering

My thoughts on a comment I deleted

I understand that you have to turn in perfect papers. I understand that as a teacher, you teacher grammar and spelling. What I don't understand is people who feels that on things such as blogs or message boards, you still have to be perfect. I received a comment on my previous post that my grammar sucked and my spelling sucked and they would not want me to be their child's teacher. Well, person, this is a blog. I treat it like journal. I rant. I say whatever I want. If I don't feel like checking my spelling and grammar. That is fine with me. If I feel like spilling out a lot of info and in my moment of excitement, things happened! Such as typos and so forth. BUT! There are two side to me, I am a teacher. Therefore, I do teach kids proper grammar. I do use proper grammar and correct spelling. When in doubt, I do check grammar books and find the correct spelling if need be. Then there is my other side, where I am not in front of students and be kooky if I want to. That would mean, go onto my blog and typing up my day as quick as I can because I am a pretty busy girl. That means I don't bother with proper to type with proper grammar or I would type so quick that I would often skip a word or accidentally create typos.

Besides... don't judge a book by it's cover. I know I am a great teacher. I know I can inspire a lot of kids to do great things. I know I can get information in their heads.

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

Today was a bit warm. Actually, I hate it. Where is the rain? Where is the cold weather?

This past Thursday was the season premiere of Ugly Betty. OMG!!! It was a great start. Amanda might be Bradford's bastard child! Alexis wakes up from a coma saying that she is Alex! Santos is actually dead! (That was a very sad scene. We all thought that Santos is alive but it was all in Hilda's head. *sob*) The show ends with Henry getting off the train! Wow!

Yesterday, I went to a crop held by Freckle Friends for Scrap Pink.

It was held at a nice country club. I pulled up to a gate, had to back up and stop at the security booth. I had to give my name! The crop was small, but I think I like it that way. There were three make and takes. One was with Candice Carpenter, we made a cute tag. Second was with Cheryl of Fiskars, we made a cute mini album that had a breast cancer theme. I don't know anybody with breast cancer (knock on wood) so I'm turning it into a love book. (cheesy, I know) Lastly, we made a cute mini acrylic album with Jessica of Zutter Zizzters (sorry if I spelled it wrong!). It was a Halloween theme, using the extra o-rings as legs for spiders. Super cute. So of course I bought a bunch of acrylic (I originally need one set of 6x6 for my mini Jungle album) but I had to get more. Possible I need to get a lot more actually. I looked at Jessica's website (www.kits2remember.com) and there were flower shaped album. Very cute. The food was good. Didn't scrapped as much as I wanted. I was actually very sleepy. Didn't' sleep the night before. Plus I wasn't in the mood. But when I look at others scrapping away, it makes me want to scrap! :-)

Earlier that day, I went to Strictly for their anniversary sale. They had been open for 10 years! The had a bag sale, so got some stickles and stuff. The day before, they had a paper and sticker sale, so I bought a bunch of cute paper. Today (Sunday), if you had the coupon stamped, you would get 50% off one item. So I finally bought myself a Tim Holtz scissors.
