Friday....
I got there around 9-ish. I would've been there a little earlier, but I stopped at Kinkos first. I decided to enter the layout contest. This was my first layout contest. I used my layout that said "No Windows and No Doors." But I didn't win, oh well. I did two make and takes. The first one was a small calendar and the other was a "friends" book that was so popular at Costa Mesa. They said that for 2008, they will use a different word for the make and take. So, I need to remember to hit their booth first! I was the teacher's pet for four classes. I did the "Celebrate Sisterhood", "Basic Grey", "Shabby Chic", and "Magic Memory." I liked all of the project. I will post pics ASAP. In the Magic Memory class, we made an explosion box. I was amazed at how much people were struggling! I actually have pics for the Shabby Chic project.

Pretty basic but cute. We used a template for the "frame." It was also shown on the DYI (?) show. But the thing I really liked was this pointy tool. It looks like a paper piercer but it acts like an X-acto knife!!!! It is great because I can use plastic template and not cut it from using the X-acto knife. I hate it when I do that, it messes up the template! (Will post a pic of it soon).
Also, the pic above (me and my sister), was from a Rusty Pickles class. I did the 6x6 "I Have" mini album and she did the "Dog" accordion mini album. She did pretty well.
Saturday...
Like I said, Linda came along. I had three regular classes. (I went to the teacher's pet desk to get info for a room, the lady thought I was doing more teacher's pet classes today and was happy to see me. Apparently, I was extremely helpful and people gave positive comments about me. I guess she wanted me to help other teachers too.) I did the Quick Quotes 3D canvas class. It was a neat project. But the quotes doesn't pertain to me. I don't have kids, nor grandkids. But I decided to use the kids quote and plan on giving it to me Hunny's mom for Christmas. I did the Rusty Pickle's "I have" class (ran into Sheila, my CKU bus tour seat buddy) and "Blooms" class. I would've like the Blooms class, if we didn't have to work with burlap. Messy!!! Especially when you cut it up. I was really hoping Lance would teach, since I haven't had him as an instructor, but he wasn't there. :-(
Shopping...
I did pretty well... didn't go crazy! :-P I spent like $18 at the dollar scrapbook booth. Bought one Cricut font cartridge - "Cuttin' Up". Bought one Pioneer 3 ring album ($15), found another booth that had a different brand of 3 ring album and bought those also (2 for $15!). One booth had ribbons ($.50 a yard, certain ones $1 a yard), so I bought like $15 worth.... but I need to use my ribbons!!!! Got some Quikutz, a tree, a penguin, and a dress (the summer release). Decided to buy 20 pillow boxes (plan on using them for X-mas presents). I didn't find Ranger's Industry frames. :-( I bought a few other nic-nacs. (Or however you spell it) Oh yea, I decided to buy a kit to finish the backside of the Basic Grey's project. (Sucks that we had to do that... but the class was not expensive).
Like I said, I'll post pics later! :-)
