Apocalypto

I went to see Apocalypto. It was a very good movie, but very gory. It was about the Mayan Culture. How this guy who was captured try to get back to his wife and kid. At the end, it showed the Spanyards (can't think of the spelling) coming to the South America. I do highly recommended. But no kids please!

X-mas at Camille

I hung out at Joey's Aunt today for X-mas Eve get together. We played horse shoes. At my first toss, I made it onto the pole! Woohoo! :-) So Joey loss... sore loser! :-P We ate and then played some more! Afterwards, we opened x-mas presents. I got a Hello Kitty p.j. Woohoo!! :-) Then we all played the gift game. It was fun. I was carrying around Aja's baby. She sooooo cute!

Add to yesterday

I almost forgot for some odd reason... but I also would like to add:

Kids crying bloody murder beause they do not want to go on the Jungle Cruise. I had one kid who was dragged onto the boat by his parent. I kept asking if they want to get off. Another was a girl.... she didn't wanted to even cross the dock to get off... arg.

Blah Day at the Jungle

Like the title says.... blah. I had nothing but bad boats today. People just plain suck today! Well.... only one good boat. Let me list the ways:

1. People with bad B.O.
2. Baby who obviously needs to be change
3. The annoying kid, wanted to let the elephant squirt him
4. The whinney teen girls
5. Lead is just making me plain grumpy
6. People don't do bumps right and don't take a courtesy and so I get stuck on a boat for a very long time
7. Have to work New Years Eve
8. People just plain boring

I had two guest in line though... they were 7'1 !!! White men too!

Day...

It was a very chilly day today! For once!!! No summer heat. :-P

Worked at Jungle today. Nothing much really. The first three hour, I just did task because my boat was closed and everyone was ERed. I was today not to do my good bye at the end.... since it was refering to the Haunted Mansion. :-( Oh well...

My hand is so super dry right now. My right hand hurts from it being so dry!

No rain....

It was suppose to rain really hard and heavy today. But it didn't! Which is a good thing because today was Christmas sunday. YaY!!!

After buying one more gift, I think I am offically done with Christmas shopping! YaY!!!! The bills for this month is really high.... I don't think I will be registering for the Scrapbook expo... I don't have money. Maybe if the teachers pet opens up, then I will but other than that... nope. :-(

I need to really do some overtime at Disney and try to pick up some sub shift this week. I also need to work on the calender and clean up a bit. Arg..... I hate being old.

Boys and Girls Club Staff Party

Our staff party was at Camelot today. I had fun. They gave us nifty blue jackets. There was a hole in one game and I didn't win. :-( The prize was great! A portable DVD player or a thin playstation 2. I got a $20 target gift card. They give one to every employee!!! At first, I got the starbucks one. But I didn't want it and traded with somebody.

What made me mad was when people left their trash on the table!!! They can't even clean up after themselves!!! Ggggrrr!!!

Here is a pic from the MJ calendar that I am working on. I wanted this to be done on the 17th...... but am not getting anything done. :-(

But isn't she cute?!?!

Scrapbook Expo

Well.... Registration is this SAT!!!!!!! There are a lot of classes that I would like to take. But the cost would add up pretty quickly. Also... I am going to try and wait for the teachers pet course also! :-P

On the Jungle Cruise

Today, I was able to spiel to guests in the Tiki room and do my P.A. there. I was able to spiel to guests on the Jungle Cruise at least once. It was pretty cool. I was a bit nervous. Not too bad. Just hate shooting cause it hurts my right hear a bit. I tried putting on some hear plugs... it was not comfortable.

So far, we were down today a couple of time due to the Candlelight ceremony. Yesterday, one cast member dropped the gun in the river. So, they could not fish it out using claws and a magnet. So, when the ride shut down at 5 for candle light, they sent a diver in and got it pretty quick.

Pretty sleepy right now. It's 1:46 a.m. I don't sub tomorrow, just only have the Boys and Girls Club. So sleepy...

Glamour Shots

Today, Linda and I went to get our glamour shot done. The pictures came out cute. However, it was VERY pricy!!!! I chose like 7 pictures I really liked and to get the package for the pictures, it comes out to about over $1000!!! EW!!! I just only bought one sheet. :-P And they mess up on something so I got another sheet for cheap. And I had a coupon for one free sheet. But one sheet cost like $45!!!!

They did my make-up. When I looked at myself in the mirror... I looked fake.

My student's first place

Boys and Girls Club had an essay/art contest on the theme "What I want for x-mas that money can't buy." My student, Favian, won first place! :-) He wrote "A world of impossibilities." And drew a bunch of weird stuff. Pretty nifty! :-)

Dad said that Granny has a 20% survival rate. She is going to die soon. Dad is going to Canada on Friday.

Jungle Costume

Oh year... I wanted to add something. They changed the costume for Jungle! And I don't like it! I look like a park ranger!

What I really want

I would like someone to give me a basket full of goodies. A bunch of misc things that is me! :-P

Adding to my wish list:

1. Making Memories Trimmer with the self sharpening blade :-)

Training at Jungle

Today was my first day of training at the Jungle Cruise. My trainer was Deane. I had fun, sleepy, but fun. The people there were really nice. Lots to learn, but not too bad. I just need to remember some terminology such as "Hit it Skip!" and "Dock it Skip!" Also, I need to put together some sort of spiel. They have pre-selected ones that I should choose from. I have to really remember where the derail tracks are. Because if I don't keep my boat at a constant speed, the boats can derail and I will float away! :-P I have more training this Sat! :-)

Saturday, November 25, 2006

Today....

So I found out that today that I will be working on the Jungle Cruise!!! YaY!!! :-)

Went to the mall today, circled around two rows a couple of time, looking for parking. Just when I was half way going up an aisle, I saw a car in the front pulling out. So I raced, but not too fast because there were a lot of people walking down the aisle, to get the spot. Just when I got really close and lady in her SUV decided to turn in against the aisle for the same parking. Well, when the car pulled out, I went right in. The lady honked at me and was all angry at me. I just looked at her and pointed out that it was one way and I got the right of way for that spot. Plus I was not about to wait for her to take forever trying to turn her SUV to get the spot.

Also, I was leaving Target earlier. I see a dad, playing with his baby, who was in a car seat type of thing on top of a shopping cart. Thought it was cute. But in his hand, he was holding a cigarette!!!! Right behind him, was his wife and what looks like a three year old girl. Gee... great parenting... giving your kids second hand smoke.

Stupid people.

Black Friday and Orientation

This morning I decided to go to Staples around 6:40. I figured that it won't be busy and I also wanted to get a compact flash card for me camera. Nope, there was a line, not huge, but a line. All of the compact and SD memory cards were gone. :-(

Went to orientation. There were about 32 of us. Only 6 of us were going to attractions. One guy is going to Haunted Mansion. :-( I wanted to go there. Oh well. Orientation was long and boring. We ate sandwich at the closed Eat Ticket. Not much choice there. :-( I was put at Indy/Tarzan's Tree House. Art the trainer coordinator called me later saying something about my attractions, so I have to call him the next morning. I wanted to go to Jungle. :-( Oh well, that just means that I don't have to loose my voice! :-P

Job Fair

So yea.... did the teacher job fair thing today. It kind've sucked. Every single districts gave me the same answer: We don't need multiple credential right now. The market is tight. That I should sub. Blah Blah Blah. Especially since I tell them I have had my credential for a year. I noticed that the majority of the people there were graduating next month. And the districts were just giving them big smiles and telling them to apply. As Joe puts it, putting a show for them. ggrr...

My orientation is this Friday.

Stamp Expo Day Two

Well.... I went and did not get very much. Just picked up some last mintute stuff. Much more quiet today. Was going to buy from this booth, but they don't take credit card. Either cash or check. I would write a check but they want my drivers licence info on it. Heck no!
Isn't the cards beautiful!?!?!? I love the Chinese take out box. And the girl on the tag reminds me of me. :-D

Rubberstamp Expo in Carson

I had fun and spent wayyyyyyyy tooooo much money! But I got a couple of needed items such as the scissors made to cut the mounting foam. I bought a bunch of unmounted stamps, they were sooooo cute!!! I also got this nifty thing where its like watercolor on paper where you can carry it anywhere and materials to blend color pencils. The make and take were fun.

The flower on the tag was actually made up of acrylics with holes drill into them that you can sew. You would use staz-on ink for the color. She also had them on her purse for design! Think outside the box! :-P The other one on the bottom right was actually made up of stamps! Isn't it gorgeous?!? The other one, on the bottom left, some lady did it. I can't do that!!! But so pretty!!! I have one more make and take to take a pic of. It's so nifty! But I'll post later! :-)

Friday, November 10, 2006

Family Night at Jordan Middle School

Today, the Fam. Lit and After-school program did family night together. It was ok. Except the jr. high school kids were pretty much a wild bunch. Had to stop them from getting into a fight. Get them away from food so the parents could get some. But arg!

SEI: Petalicious Class

I must say the layouts was very cute!!! I believe the object of the class was for us to think outside the page protector. At the beginning of the class, the instructor was going very fast. Which made it a bit hard to catch-up. They gave us a sheet of alphabet sticker at the very end, which was nice of them. They also gave us a card to get a free iron-on. I thought to myself, super! But the free iron-on was something I would even buy. Due to the fact that the design was a bit outdated to me. I saw ladies going to the booth while I was look at it, also felt the same way and did not bother to take it.

Well, like I said the layout had us thinking outside the page protector. On the outside was a flower and each petal was a page. The foam stickers was on the page protector. The other set of layout was pretty basic. They wanted us to add an extra mini album to the layout so we can fit more pictures. You just have to cut the page protector.

The only pictures I have posted are page 1 and 2. There is another set of layout. Like I said, it was pretty basic, so there was no point in posting. I just had to show-off the petals! :-)

Stictly Tent Sale

My LSS Strictly, had their annual tent sale this weekend. I went on Friday so I can check out the deal first. I dropped a good $45 there. The only big thing I bought was a cartiage to my Design Runner. But I went there today because it was their last day of the sale. So I expected a super sale. And everything was 60% off!!! A roll of stickers cost $1, so I go like 27 rolls. After everything, I spent another $50, doh! I really, really, really need to stick to a budget and not spend sooooooooo much! What to do? What to do? They keep coming out with more and more cute stuff!!! ACK!

This was a project from Junkitz: Junk up your album. The cover is the one that has the word "dream" on it. The top picture is the back page. It was a cute project. Every single page consist of chip boards. Three long chip board and one short chip board. We covered both the front and back.

This was a nice project for the cost. Sort of brownish. But I still like it. :-)

Borat

Saw Borat the other day. It was funny! I wouldn't say it was the most funniest movie ever. But funny! :-) I do recommend you to see it. But if you get offended easily, don't. :-P

Rusty Pickle: One Fine Day Accordian Album

This was a class I actually signed up for, instead of doing the teachers pet. But it is a cute little album. I don't mind signing up for their class again. It was a good price and it looks nice.

I'm sorry that the picture is sideways. I have not idea why it is doing that.
The color combination is really nice. It works! Who whould've thought of using red, yellow and brown?!? The tags were pre-dipped in walnut ink. The page with the three hanging tag is a cute idea. It was also dipped in walnut ink and we glued some words on it. We used fabrics as ribbons, there were one actual ribbon. I like it but it bugs me to see the fraying ends of the fabric. I guess I am pretty anal like that.

The quote says: "Enjoy the little things because one day you'll look back and realize they were the BIG things!" Nice quote.

Make and Takes

The makes and takes were ok on the convention floor. There weren't many makes and takes but I did some in my little time I have to shop. The first one was from a store (can't think of the name). We made a Halloween card using quickutz. The next one was from another store. They have been selling ribbons for years, before scrapbook became so popular. They got sucked into the hobby. But the make and take was pretty and the ribbons were really cheap! The Halloween paper was from another company. Basically we worked with glitter and it came out nice. I have to use glitter more often. The last one was from Lickety-Split. Cute summer/pool layout. The flip flop was made from foam. :-)

Sorry this is not much of a post, but I wrote a nice long one and orgnaized it to look neat. Then I accidentally delete it somehow. Doh! I have a couple more make and takes to post, later on. And I will eventually post the reviews of classes... as soon as I finish the projects.

Haunted Classroom

Today at the Boys and Girls club, we created a haunted house out of our room. The kids had a blast! The younger kids walked though our house of horrors and so did the adults. I'll post some pics later!

Scrapbook Expo at Ontario

Well... I made it. Two whole days! My lower back is killing me right now. I can't bend or else it really hurts. It hurts right now just sitting here. I wish the chiro was open on Sunday. I will post my reviews and pictures tomorrow! :-)

Should be sleeping...

I should be hitting the sack right now. It's 11 p.m. and I have to be a Stoddard School at 7:15 the next morning. But here I am up, surfing and peaing. :-P

Cropping at the Oasis

Yesterday, I went to the Memory Trend Crop at the Scrapbook Oasis. It was actually quite fun. My second crop. Oddly enough, I got a lot done! :-) I can't wait to find more crops to go to. Paper Mouse is holding one during the first weekend of Novemeber. Raising money for breast cancer research. But if cost $135, and I don't have that kind of money. :-(

I got there around 10:30, they gave me a nifty name tag to wear and a special layout for the event. I met two ladies from Two Peas. I just can't remember their Peas' name at the moment. They were fun to chit chat with. Which made the event even better. :-) I knew that I was going in it alone, but it would've been very lonely if I had no one to chit chat with.

The food was ok. For lunch, we had a Mexican food sampler. There wasn't really much to feed us. I got my food last and there were only a couple of things left. Dinner, they served us homemade lasagna. It was really good. :-)

Our table won a set of color pencils. I won some MAMBI bling sticker and rub-ons. I recived the Citrus Bleu paper sampler as our paper pack.

We saw samples of the new stuff that will be coming out. They look sooooo pretty! Especially the Shimmer Bazzil! I am drooling over those! :-)

I wuv mah Hamster M.J. :-)

Conference Weekend

This weekend, I went to the Future Teachers Conference at Santa Monica College. There were great workshops with great ideas! :-) But first, I will start on Friday.

Well.. I was driving on the freeway on Friday to UCLA, where I was going to spend the weekend at my Sister's apartment. The sky was nice and cloudy. It looked like it was going to rain soon. The freeway was flowing and traffic was about to start. So I was driving in the furthest lane and taking my time, since I don't need to speed and we were stopping a bit. I see the person in a SUV right behind me being very impatient. Well, that person decided to change lane into the carpool lane, but was driving very close right next to me. Then he cut in front of me! I shooked my fist at him. Want to get right in front of him again, but he changed lane again and traffic hit his lane. I drove pasted me and just smiled. :-P

I wanted to hit the sack early. I did not want to be sleepy at the conference. My sister roommate invited a friend, who then invited several other friends. It became noisy! Could not sleep even if I tried. So we decided to sleep in her friend's living room in another apartment. When we thought we were safe from noise, the people next door was having a party!!!! ARG!!! I can her some chick on the balcony saying that she was so drunk. So I pretty much did not get much sleep that night at all. I was sleepy during the conference.

I went home early Sunday. I missed my silent and I missed my bed.

Kids are funny...

I was subbing for a second grade class today. I was trying to teach them a concept. And I used a real life example. It had to do something with my dad. Afterwards, I checked for understanding. The kids acted suprise that I have a dad. They were like, "you have a dad?" Silly kids. :-P

My Jungle Backyard

This is something that I plan on making a layout of. But I remember when we were young and our spa still worked, my dad was eating mango. He threw the pit into the yard and said "watch, one day we will have a mango tree." And he also did the same thing with an apple he ate. Well, look! Many years later, we have a mango tree and an apple tree. We also have a ton of other plants, but we always had those. Check it out! This is the first year we have mangos (dang it, can't thing of the grammar rule for plural). Well I think we had tiny ones last year... but this year, they grew huge!

Honest to God! These came from out tree, not store bought. I think that is so stinking neat! :-)

Here are our fresh apples. The apples really started to grow last year. They were small apples, a few grew big. The only became slighty pink. No red apples yet. The apples this year looks a bit small also. Maybe next year we will get bigger apples.

Tired...

My throat hurts. Working way too much. But I need to work enough to pay bills. Was so grump yesterday too. Plus I tripped on my network cord, which cause my laptop to drop. :-( I noticed today that the cd-rom sticks out a little and the disk drive is crack. :*-( But it looks like my cd-rom still works.

What shocks me....

What shocks me is when I look at my own blog to see if someone is actually reading it. I find that I have comments! Woohoo! :-P

LA Fair

So, I went to the LA county fair. It was actually pretty dull. Nothing too exciting. I went to check out the shopping buildings, and I felt that I kept seeing the same company or product being sold over and over again. hhmmm..... The prize for the game booths weren't too super. They did have a bungee jumping attraction. That looked fun. :-P

The only neat part was the western area they had. I made rope! The same way the people long ago did. I also made a doll out of cloth. Like little girls did, except with their daddy's handkercheif (did I spell that right? oh well).

The part that annoyed me was some kids there. I was waiting patiently for my turn to make a doll. A group of kids from some school came along and wanted to also make some dolls. When it was my turn, a girl jumped in a want to be next. But the nice lady running the booth knew it was my turn, so I went next. Rude girls.

My LO for the Croc Hunter

This is my tribute layout for the recently deceased Croc Hunter Steve Irwin. I am participating, with my fellow Peas from Two Peas, creating a tribute album. We are all creating one LO and a lovely lady has volunteer to put it all together in an album. Which she will ship to Australia at the end of the month.
This is my first time ever doing something like this. It's just so sad that Steve left the world so suddenly.

Hello to the world!

Hello! :-P

Interview Status

Well... Bonita Unified called today. They wanted me for the job. But I turned it down. After giving it much thought and findng out that I will be getting about $30 an hour. It won't be worth it to drive an hour to get there and back for two hours a day four days a week. I think I'll stick to subbing in that situation. I hope I'll get some sort of a long term sub job that will lead me to a permanent job! :-)

Thursday, September 07, 2006

I wonder...

I wonder if anybody is actually reading my blog... or following my blog... hhmm...

Continuation from yesterday....

So... yes the restrooms were dreadful!!!! EW!!!!! I could not and did not go back there. I am very good at changing with clothes on top of each other (from years of changing on the bus after parade as a marching band geek). And that is what I did afterwards at the car.

The water was really nice to be in. I wouldn't say it was relaxing because there were a lot of people. So I bumped into a few and some bumped into me. But it was nice to lie on a boogie board and float around.

Lake Perris

Today, Larry, Tony, Dad and I went to Lake Perris in Riverside. This was our second trip, except for Larry. It was suppose to be a nice trip because it is so stinking hot!!!

When arrived at our destination, there were no parking anywhere!!!! Some people were even double parking. It took us about a good 30 min before we spoted a spot. It wasn't really a marked spot, but hey! It's a spot. Plus we didn't get a ticket. :-P

I was happy to get out of the car. Well, not for the hot weather, I had to really use the rest room. They had two seperate room, one for changing and one for the toilets. And boy was the bathroom filthy!!!!!!!!!!!! It was very, very, very, VERY, gross!!! Worse than the one at Huntington Beach! There were flies everywhere!

To be continue... need to help cousin with homework.

Sunday, September 03, 2006

HOT!!!!

Boy was it hot today! The thermometer in my car read 100 degrees!!!! That's is just pure crazy-ness!!! ACK!!!! WATER!!!!! I hate hot weather! I can't wait until it cools down. I love the winter weather!

Today, there was an international street fair in Orange. It was hard to find parking! Either park in the street or pay $10. And I am not going to pay $10! That could go to better use, like food or scrapbooking! :-P Lots of great food, international food. But I was not hungry. They had a massage table, I just had to get a massage. It felt realllllllllly great! I love massages. Lots of alcohol too.

I got a call from Bonita Unified to interview on Tue for a block teacher position. I wonder what does that mean.... block teacher.... but regardless, YaY!

Modge Podge Lesson Learned

Well... now I know to never do this.

I decided to modge podge my composition book and my new agenda I made with the Sara Binders. It looks great. I grabbed both this morning and I left it in my car. The agenda was sitting on top of the composition book.

WELL... it was a pretty hot day. Especially if your locked in a car. I come back several hours earlier to find it stuck together. Not much, but enough! It ripped! I was so sad. I had to re-modge podge my agenda. Never again!

The Count Down Starts

Well.... school should be starting up this week and next week. So far no teaching jobs for me. No interviews. Nothing. :-(

My Doodle Attempt

With all this craze with doodling on layouts, I had to give it a try. It's not that tough. Heck, if you looked at my letters or notes I have written, it is full of doodle! My favorite one is the one I would do on the margin. You know, where the hole is so you can put it in your binder. I would draw a stick figure body to it and may a comment bubble say "hey? Where's my head?"

So.... that is a picture of me driving. My sister took that picture of me. I sort of like it.

Still Job Hunting

Do you know what makes me angry? When the media keeps saying that there is a teacher shortage. What? Shortage?!?! If there was a shortage, I should have districts begging me to work for their district..... Nope.... Just a competition between me and 500 other applicants for one job. If there even is a job.

Tuesday, August 15, 2006

Back to School is GREAT!

Mainly due to the back that a lot of school related materials are on sale! I went to Target and bought myself a box of 96 crayons for less that $3.00. I remember I always wanted to a huge box like that when I was young.... So jealous of the other girls who got one. Now I need to get a coloring book! Tee-Hee

Tuesday, August 08, 2006

Why I like China Town

Why do I like going there? It's not that I always like to go to China Town. It can get really hot and just plain HOT! There are some great deals there. You can get two finches and a cage for $22.00 and knock-off items. Plus bargining is always fun.

BUT the thing I really like to get there are boot-legged videos! They are not always the superb copies, but they are still great. So for $25 I got 8 videos!!! Money saved from the theater, and more money to spend on scrapbooking. Of course, if I really like the movie, I do buy the actual copies once they come out on DVD.

Science Center Trip

Well... Today, me, my brother and my dad went to the California Science Center right next to USC (hiss.....). The place was full of campers!!! Kids galore!!! It's great that they get to experience things and learn. But they like to bang on things! Plus they kind've smell funny.... gave me a head ache.

It was a interesting place. It is bigger than the one in Santa Ana. The admission is free and parking is $6.00. A big variety of exhibits. You can actually see a short video of a lung surgery! Kind've gross to see them cut the chest.

I swear, I am such a nerd. While the kids are running around like crazy, I am the only one with my note book and taking notes. But HEY! These notes will be useful to me later on when I teach. Plus they had some neat displays that I can also show to my students.

My Very First Blog

Ok, so I decided to join in the band wagon and create my own blog. I wonder if people actually read this. I have a online journal that I don't use any more. But I guess it is something you have to constantly use and use and get used to.
