I got GOLD!

I went to the bank today and got $25 in the new Washington dollar coins. What will I do with it, you ask? Well... I am going to use them! Of course! That is I will use a coin at a time and save couple for the presidents collection. I still need to get the last quarter of last year for my quarter collection.

Today was the first day of spring... yea it's cloudy and rained all night.

Ew! I am sick

So year.... my throat hurts really bad to swallow! I hit the sack around 9 last night. Did nothing but toss and turn. Still hurts now to swallow. It feels very funny when I talk, as if it may close up. :-( Got some antibiotics. That should help. I hope.

Fantastic Day (Yesterday)

I was doing guest control on Main Street yesterday. Just about all of the skippers were out there! I got cussed out at yesterday. Let see here, for the parade I was doing the walkway. Trying to keep it clear. If people wanted to watch the parade, they need to get on the other side of the rope (with the exception of stairs). I walked by and one of the closed fake door had an Asian man. Well you can't technically see him if you walk by, but I do... so here is out lovely conversation.

Me: Sir, if you would like to watch the parade, I need you on the other side of the rope please.

Man: I'm not bothering anybody.

Me: I understand sir, but if you stand here, people will want to stand here so I need you over there.

Man: (starting to get pissed) I don't understand, let me tell you this. I am not bothering anybody.

Me: (once again) I understand sir, but if you stand here, people will want to stand here.

Man: I am not bothering anybody. And if people come and stand here I will move.

Me: I'm sorry sir, I just can't have you stand here.

Man: I am not bothering anybody. The baby is sleeping (baby in is arm) and it is noisy there.

Me: I understand sir, but if you were really concern about the noise, I highly suggest you go inside the store where it is more quiet for your baby.

Man: (here is where he walks off pissed) This is F***ing stupid! This is sh*t. And blah, blah, blah (as he walks away with his wife and other kid).

I took a bunch of skippers to Village Haus Cast window for dinner. Yea... they love it there. :-D I was like screw Inn Between crappy food!

We had an hour to kill. So we decided to have fun on Main Street. A bunch of us created a bridge as guest went through it while we were cheering. We would point our flashlight on the ground and looked at nothing really to trick guests into looking. Same thing looking up high at things. It was fantastic. :-)

YaY!!!! Linda came and took a picture of me!!! YaY!!! Had a couple of really great boats, some ok boats and a couple of blah boats. It was deaf awareness day. So it was pretty interesting to see the interpreters interpret our spiels.

Another Fine Day at the Jungle

I got a lovely mid-shift today.... well technically opening since this week days, the jungle opens at 12. The boat I was in was really slow (Congo). When I went in my boat, after they load it, they sent me (by saying hit it skip). Well, I set the boat at full throttle. And they yelled hit is skip again, and I told them that I am at full throttle, just that the stinking boat is really slow!!!! Saw Chuck Norris! He is getting really old! I was at onload, it is so annoying, I hate it when kids would yank their arm away when I try to help them out of the boat. The chick who was my boat partner is just... well new. Plus she did not take a courtesy (meaning an extra trip since she was going on lunch) and somehow, I ended in the boat for almost an hour! ARG!!! I was almost late (two minutes away) from my lunch block. ARG!

The traffic into K lot was horrendous this morning!!! There was a bad accident on the 5, but I wasn't on it. There were bad traffic on Katella (both side) from convention center. People assuming that the employee parking lot was for them!!! I got off of 5 north at Katella.... yea from there to the parking lot which is probably a half a mile and usually take less than 5 minute to get to, took me like 40 minutes!!! ARG!!! I wanted to yell out of my window telling people that this the employee parking lot!!!!

Got my check this morning.... yea they took out a lot... and I do mean A LOT!!! Well.. .for taxes and retirement... arg!

Went to the Oasis... yes I am bad. :-P I hafta check out the new stuff that came in! I got more Heidi Swap stamps. I like them since I found out that they were acrylic stamps! Got the new Fontwerks journaling cards, very cute! Some more rub-ons! One from Sweetwater with the flowers and one from Creative Imagineering (?) the kind in a swatch like. I love those! They need to make more with quotes! Yes they do! Some more Heidi Swapp stickers. Didn't get any stamps, they weren't as big as I had anticipated.

This weekend is the Carson Stamp expo! I need to go! I need to get some adhesive from Draggin Ink. They have a great tacky tape.

Can't wait to register for CHA!

My Sweet Little Girl Class

Same company as the post below. Once again, a very small group... only 8 of us. This is about a 9x9. Everything, but the rub-on, screams little girl. :-)

Heirloom Recipe Box

I forgot the company for this class. They sell box and album sets. It is all made of paper mache type of materials. It is a cute little project. It is about a 6x6. not a lot of people in this class... about 8 I think.

EZ Lazer: A year in review mini album

This was a cute but simple project. Not too hard. Very basic. The mini album is actually quite small. It can fit wallet size pictures.

My braided hair

YaY! My sister braided my hair the other day. It looked great! Especially wearing the boy-scout outfit that we call Jungle outfit.

Lil Davis Class: Sweet Memories with Michelle Hill

This was the first time very meeting Michelle. I heard of her but never seen her or taken her class. For this class, they gave you a lot of products! The kit itself was very pretty. We got chipboard shapes and chipboard letters. As she puts it, she hates cutting up and giving parts in a kit. She rather gives the whole thing. Nice lady. She kind've reminds me of the rich, drunk lady in Will and Grace. Well... her voice. :-P Karen! That's who!

But anyways. We put together a cute layout. It involved stamping with the new acrylic stamps. She showed use that we can create our own transparancy overlay. That transparancy over lay was made by me! :-) Just cut out a transparancy and stamped it using staz-on. I believe it is one of those tecnique we know how to do and it is simple, just needs someone to point it out. We were suppose to sew the "X" on the second page. I was attemping to without a needle. I made one "X" and gave up on the other three and drew them in. :-P I'll eventually do it. The library pocket, I know it looks funky on the layout, a picture was suppose to be on it to create a hidden journaling pocket. Right now the layout is not fully complete. I don't have any pictures on it! But I like the class and wouldn't mind taking another Michelle Hill's class again.

SEI Class: 3-D mini album

I don't know if it was me or I expected a lot more. When I think of 3-d mini album, I think of every page has something 3-d that pops out at you. Guess not. But the box is really cute. I believe the pages are 6x6. I wouldn't mind getting more box like it to give as gifts. It looks like a regular box, but you can make the top open to sit. Then in the book the spiral album is attached to the box. The technique for this class was that you had this accordian fold that you use to hold your tag. Creating some sort of an envelope. I'm not going to post every page, but you get what I mean by looking a some of the pics.

SEI Class: Wild and Crazy

Well the title of the class has to do with the title of the layout. Techniques learned:
1. Page symmetry
2. Cascading ribbons (?)
3. Altering the gender stuff
4. That circle spinner thing
5. Brads

The page symmetry was just that... symmetry. The ribbon was nice. You would use it to hold your tags. Altering the gender... well you either turn things around or cover up anything that has to do with gender with ribbons. The circle spinner thing is nice. Not too hard to do. Brads was just that... brads. At this expo, they didn't get their brads shipped in so we had to share one bottle of brads with our neighbor. So I worked really fast so I can stick all the brads I needed to create the layout. (I know I'm bad like that but I want to finish the layout) They gave use a template so that we know where to punch for the brads in order to stick the circle spinner thing so it looks nice and even. I like nice and even.

SEI Workshop 5 in 1

After finally catching up on everything I will post everything. The first class I will talk about was the SEI classes that I took.

The first class was the 5 in 1 workshop, with the quadrilateral slide. The class was of course fast pace. The papers were very pretty. Great for Spring. The techniques were:
1. Ribbon Cascade
2. Quadrilateral slide
3. Ribbon Clip
4. Hanging Frame
5. I believe the hidden journaling

The ribbon clip was very simplistic. It was one of those you don't think about doing it until someone shows it to you. The ribbon cascade was pretty also. I loved using the pearl brads. The quadrilateral slide was the hardest part for some people. We had to use a template to cute it out from a 12x12 paper. Then we had to cut plastic out to create the slide. Then we tape the paper down and fold it up. The paper slide out, when you pull one side, the other comes out. Then you would create another one and put it on top, to create the quadrilateral slide. It was cute and unique. Will probably use it a couple of time. But my mistake was that I glued it down onto my page, I should glue it down on top of the page protector so we can actually use the quadrilateral slide.

Lickety Split Make and Take

This was a make and take that they had at their booth. It was a very cute concept! CSI! They had a coordinating layout that go with it, but it cost an extra $6. The make and take was $2. But I had a coupon so it was free! YaY! I did this on a white cardstock. I stamped my thumb print all over for the background. The "Scene of the Crime" was a new transparancy they had. Well... actually the word "Scene" was a cut out and "of the crime" was the transpanacy that was glued over it. The yellow strip "do not cross" was an actual tape! Very cute. The scene of the crime was suppose to be a parody about us scrapbookers! :-P

Scrapbook Expo

Today was the first day of the Scrapbook Expo in Costa Mesa. Had a blast! I took three classes today. Did a lot of makes and takes. Did not shop much which was very good for me! :-) More pictures and details later.
