Final SDU Class for this session
I thought it went very well. We talked about using stickers and being creative with titles. We also talked about using punches. I taught the ladies how to make a lolli-pop flower and swirl flower. :-)

My First SDU Class
Had my first class today at Michaels. To be honest.... I didn't expect to have any students. The Michaels that I am assigned to doesn't advertise. The display board that I made is sitting in the classroom, where no one sees it. I called in to see if anybody signed up, well two people did! Today was scrapbook basics.... aka into to it, albums, and matting. It went well! :-)Monday, October 25, 2010
Brad Setter Tool
Got this tool at Michaels the other day. I thought that it was interesting as well useful. It is pink (bleck). It has a piercer on one side and a leg seperater on the other side. Yes the hand is twisted. It is that way for gripping purposes.

HS Reunion
Earlier this month was my 10 yr. high school reunion. It was held at a hotel and organized by two alumni. They did a really good job, despite the number of former students who showed up (about 20). I guess the only downside is that rather than organizing it through the alumni program, they advertised it through Facebook. But I will give them credit for doing it, when the person who was suppose to organize it never did. It was a Mardi Grai theme (our pep-week theme). There were some food, alcohol (of course), dancing, and a photo booth (amazing!). My Hunny and I danced like we never danced before! We ran into old friends (*smiles*). Some looked the same, some changed, some REALLY changed (like our friend Eric), and some...well I guess once a B**** always a B****. But that is what they chose to be, then so be it.
Went to the homecoming football game. The football team was on a winning streak, plus there was suppose to be a lot of people. Saw the band perform *smiles* and it reminded me of the good old days. I REALLLLLLLY wish I have a video of my old field shows. :-( Have some pics (when year book had a photo sale).

Evolution of a Scrapbooker
I love this... found this on Susan's blog
1. "Cut a picture? You've got to be kidding!"
2. "Well those sure are cute pages. I'm not that creative."
3. "You have IDEA BOOKS? Let me see."
4. "I guess I'll need an album, some adhesives, and paper."
5. "Oh, and I'll also need some templates, stickers, die cuts, & one of those trimmer things."
6. "I can't get my page to look exactly like the one in the book!"
7. "You mean I have to write in my album I will need some pens. What should I write?"
8. "I finished my first page. Do you like it?"
9. "You know I have a ton of zoo pictures, and Jr. needs his school pages done; I need another album & some more paper."
10. "You have printed paper? And precut paper? I'll take one of each!"
11. "NEW STICKERS? I'll take some!"
12. "NEW DIECUTS? I'll need those!"
13. "A NEW TOOL! I NEED THAT!"
14. "A NEW IDEA BOOK? GIVE ME THAT NOW!"
15. "Wow- even bags and binders to get my supplies organized? I definitely need those!"
16. "Sorry honey, you'll have to make dinner- I'm off to a crop!"
17. "Clean socks are in the dryer!"
18. "HOLD IT! I HAVE to get a picture of that for the scrapbook."
19. "Would you please wear this shirt? I have the cutest paper to use in my layout and that will match perfectly!"
20. "YES, I came up with the idea myself."
21. "YES, that is my own handwriting."
22. "YES, I make time to scrapbook."
23. "Honey, we need to add a room to the house for my Scrapping room."
24. "Life is crazy. I just need to crop!"
25. Tax time: "Yes, scrapbooking is a medical deduction--it's my THERAPY."
Where would you place yourself? I think I am at #24. Even though I haven't had the chance lately to scrap... but I do try to make some time for myself and scrapbooking helps with my crazy life. :-P

My Scrappy Update
Hello world! Well... not much of a scrappy update, sad to say. I haven't really had the chance to scrap like I wanted to. But I do... was stressed out one day, made a layout and I was happy in the end. I think I am annoyed at my area again... I really need to declutter my area. I really want to participate in some kind of a scrappy garage sale... but every single scrap store around me closed. I still have Wooten, but she doesn't even have classes. But I love walking around that store! Have to Oasis... but she doesn't seem to open on weekends. There is the Depot... but I dunno. They don't even have a website.
Recently got this at the Bee before it closed, the Distrezz-it-all. This is a motor distressing tool. Kind've like the one with the single blade that Heidi Swapp and Tim Holtz created... except this can do more than one paper, cardboard, chip board. Tim did not like this tool, it was "noisy" during the CHA debut... I wouldn't see why not, this tool has power! Previously, I thought about buying it... was still undecided. My friend Jennifer Priest brought one to her class and I got to use it. I feel in love with it. Let's just say I liked the grinding noise.... talk about a de-stresser! But the biggest thing I love about the tool is that it catches all the little fluff. The #1 reason why I hate distressing is the fluff.... it gets alllllll over me. Well my friend... no more!

Doily #?.... only about 6 more to go and I am done. I did a lot of sustitution. But I still like it.

Found new punches at Joanns. I got th eone where you can create a postage stamp look and stitches. So cute! :-) They also had a notebook border punch... but I already have a similar one (EK Success).
Like I said in my previous post, I am now SDU certified... will hopefully teach at a Michaels soon.
