Final SDU Class for this session

I thought it went very well.  We talked about using stickers and being creative with titles.  We also talked about using punches.  I taught the ladies how to make a lolli-pop flower and swirl flower.  :-)

Using Tim Holtz Rosette die

I recently decided to buy the new Tim Holtz Rosette die. Yes, I can make this without using a die. It can be done (cut a 1"x12" stip, fan fold, glue, push down, punch a two inch circle). But if I make it by hand, it's not even. This die gives it an even look.

*sorry for the sideways pictures*

For my third (of four) SDU class, we talked about titles. So I had the students make some rosette and spelled out out "joy." Perfect short title for a layout.

Yes...

We like to dress alike :-)
Black shirt..... and matching (yes, the color is slightly different) 5-11 tactical pants. Lots of pockets!

Signs

Here are some signs I made for my Michaels store....I don't like my grass.... oh well...
The gifts are missing bows... I told to manager to ask the flower lady to make them, and he did not... I make ugly bows, so I didn't even want to attempt.

Sanrio Pop-Up Tour

I was lucky enough to have the day off to attend the Sanrio's Pop-Up tour. It was a long wait but got some goodies and bought some goodies. :-)

Would love a truck like this!

Would love a SMART car like this!

My First SDU Class

Had my first class today at Michaels. To be honest.... I didn't expect to have any students. The Michaels that I am assigned to doesn't advertise. The display board that I made is sitting in the classroom, where no one sees it. I called in to see if anybody signed up, well two people did! Today was scrapbook basics.... aka into to it, albums, and matting. It went well! :-)

Finally.....

I am done!

Brads and Eyelets Storage

For those of you who are wondering how I store my brads and eyelets...
Hmm... I wish there is a way to flip the image on Blogger.... I have two of these "binder," one for my brads and one for my eyelets, plus misc. embellishments. I store them by color.

Brad Setter Tool

Got this tool at Michaels the other day. I thought that it was interesting as well useful. It is pink (bleck). It has a piercer on one side and a leg seperater on the other side. Yes the hand is twisted. It is that way for gripping purposes.
Poker.... to create holes. It comes with a cover.

You would use the side to seperate the brad legs and fold down. As you can see, I tried three different sized brads.

Overall... I thought it was a good tool. Yes... I could always use my nails to seperate the legs...but I don't always have nails, plus I have poke my self numerous times try to split the legs (especially the small ones).

Hot Pot

While in China, my sister took us to a place called Hot Pot. It's like Shabu-Shabu...but better. Well, we managed to find one in the US... Monterey Park to be exact.

Some amazing plushies

Just had to share :-) Zombie Hello Kitty!
Got this for Egg Roll.... it was soooo cute and so soft, did not want to give it to her... .but I did.

HS Reunion

Earlier this month was my 10 yr. high school reunion. It was held at a hotel and organized by two alumni. They did a really good job, despite the number of former students who showed up (about 20). I guess the only downside is that rather than organizing it through the alumni program, they advertised it through Facebook. But I will give them credit for doing it, when the person who was suppose to organize it never did. It was a Mardi Grai theme (our pep-week theme). There were some food, alcohol (of course), dancing, and a photo booth (amazing!). My Hunny and I danced like we never danced before! We ran into old friends (*smiles*). Some looked the same, some changed, some REALLY changed (like our friend Eric), and some...well I guess once a B**** always a B****. But that is what they chose to be, then so be it.

Went to the homecoming football game. The football team was on a winning streak, plus there was suppose to be a lot of people. Saw the band perform *smiles* and it reminded me of the good old days. I REALLLLLLLY wish I have a video of my old field shows. :-( Have some pics (when year book had a photo sale).

2. "Well those sure are cute pages. I'm not that creative."
3. "You have IDEA BOOKS? Let me see."
4. "I guess I'll need an album, some adhesives, and paper."
5. "Oh, and I'll also need some templates, stickers, die cuts, & one of those trimmer things."
6. "I can't get my page to look exactly like the one in the book!"
7. "You mean I have to write in my album I will need some pens. What should I write?"
8. "I finished my first page. Do you like it?"
9. "You know I have a ton of zoo pictures, and Jr. needs his school pages done; I need another album & some more paper."
10. "You have printed paper? And precut paper? I'll take one of each!"
11. "NEW STICKERS? I'll take some!"
12. "NEW DIECUTS? I'll need those!"
13. "A NEW TOOL! I NEED THAT!"
14. "A NEW IDEA BOOK? GIVE ME THAT NOW!"

16. "Sorry honey, you'll have to make dinner- I'm off to a crop!"
17. "Clean socks are in the dryer!"
18. "HOLD IT! I HAVE to get a picture of that for the scrapbook."
19. "Would you please wear this shirt? I have the cutest paper to use in my layout and that will match perfectly!"
20. "YES, I came up with the idea myself."
21. "YES, that is my own handwriting."
22. "YES, I make time to scrapbook."
23. "Honey, we need to add a room to the house for my Scrapping room."
24. "Life is crazy. I just need to crop!"
25. Tax time: "Yes, scrapbooking is a medical deduction--it's my THERAPY."

Where would you place yourself? I think I am at #24. Even though I haven't had the chance lately to scrap... but I do try to make some time for myself and scrapbooking helps with my crazy life. :-P

Strange California Weather....

We went from extreme hot to cool and rain. Well.. if it rains tomorrow, I will make it a point to scrap since I can't take Egg Roll to the dog park. She's so sad... :-P I will scrap after I come home.... no thinking about work. Just be creative... plus I need to call Michaels.
