Knott's Haunt

Went to Haunt for my very first time last week.  My Hunny and I went on a Wed....which was perfect!  It was not crowded.  *we loath crowds*  First stop was Mrs. Knott's fried chicken... yea it was ok, not too super (check!).  After a couple of shots, my camera ran out of battery!!!! I brought my charger with me so I was able to charge it for about 15 min.... however, I managed to drop my camera in the toilet!  (a Canon powershot)  I was sooooo sad!  I was able to take a couple of pictures.  But the camera was not functional all night.  I had my Android phone, so I took some pictures with it.

The mazes were fun.  Lots of great details.  I was not scared at all... I don't get scared easily.  I was giggling at the monsters.  I constantly had to pull back because the monsters would literally get in your face and I felt that I might bump my head.  Found my monster friend "Adam", formerly from guest research.  Saw a few shows: Ed Alonzo Psycho Circus and the torture king.  Overall, we had a great time and want to do it again next year!

BTW... bought a new Canon point and shoot.  It is an awesome camera.  I'm not too sad because the other camera was five years old and doesn't have all the great functions that this one does.  I still use my Rebel T1i, not as often as I should, but I do :-)

Martha Stewart Party Crafting Tool

Arg! (picture was suppose to be horizontal)  I got this tool at Michaels recently.  It comes with a template used to cut a 6x6in. paper and a cutting blade.  It is a very easy tool.  You take a 6x6 paper and fold it in half to make a triangle.  The folded side goes into the tool and you cut along the slit.  Take the paper out and open it.   Then fold the paper ever other way and glue/staple it together.  The star was created using 6 papers.  I think it is cute.  Can't wait to make a bunch of these and decorate for Christmas.  Yes.... you can make it without the tool.... but I like the fact that it is a no-brainer and you don't have to measure the length of the cut in order to make it even.

Went camping recently....

My friend (John) arranged a camping trip right by Lake Arrowhead.  He created this group called Little Big Adventure, where we go on adventures......by trying to make it inexpensive as possible.  Well, this was my first time camping.....ever.   I have never, ever slept in a tent before.  I have never, ever slept outside before.  It was an experience.

We (me, Hunny, JP and Jess) arrived our destination Friday night.  It was interesting setting up a tent at night.  The ground was hard!  But it was cold.  Woke up super early.  I never wake up early.... We went hiking.  We were trying to find the Aztec dive.  Where people would jump 40ft. off the side of a mountain into the water.  At first we did not find it.  We found a smaller area and we jumped.  Me too! (the water was extremely cold!)  After a futher hike, we found the area.... but the water was too shallow to jump into and we didn't want to risk it.  Afterwards, we went to Lake Arrowhead for Oktoberfest...wasn't much of a fest.  We back and chilled the rest of the night.   WELL!!!! People on the other side of camp was noisy.... ALLLL night long.  The next morning, we had kids screaming right outside our tent.  ARG!  We cleaned up camp, had breakfast at Lake Arrowhead and went home.  Took a nice long, hot shower when I got home.  Now I can use my camp scrappy papers! :-P

Some cards I've made

Am currently working part time at a craft store just for fun.  Made these cards as a demo.  One was for embossing (Top Box embossing pad doesn't work very well) and glitter.  My Frankenstein was colored using Copic markers.  :-)

Yan-Yan!

Went to the Asian market the other day to buy some cheap produce.... found some Yan-Yan!  I used to snack on this as a kid.  Well...only the crackers.... I never liked chocolate.... so I would trade my chocolate for more crackers.  :-P

Got this at the OC Fair

:-)

New EK Punch (Joanns)

Walked into Joanns today and found some new punches!!!!!!   These four stood out.  You can use them as a border punch.... but the purpose of this punch is to create a rolled up flower.

Taking the Beagles out

We recently drove all the way to Big Bear to find a rabbit hunting trail.  Never did find it.  We relied on the park ranger...but they were closed.  But that's ok, we found a small alternative trail for the dogs.

And yes... dogs do get car sick.....

Renegade Craft Fair

I recently went to the Renegade Craft Fair in LA.  I missed it last year and really wanted to go this year.  Well.. my car got stuck and I had to call AAA to pull me out.
 There were some food trucks.
Lots of neat booths selling nifty handmade stuff.  I made an apple coozie. :-)

What I notice for CHA-S

The theme is either the holidays (Halloween or Christmas) or it's some sort of a retro farmer-ish theme...

Tim Holtz Goodness

Went to the Carson Stamp Expo this past weekend.  I went because Tim was there!

Sew easy

Decided to buy this to give this a try.... We R Memory: Seweasy
The tool itself is a handle with a regular stitch piercer.  The bottom of the tool is used to store needles.  Everything is basically plastic.  There are many different interchangeable heads to do different designs.
The needle... or spikes... are actually quite sharp!  In order to change it out, you twist the top.  That is how it locks in.
The company suggests using the their mat.  I have the Bazzil mat, so basically the same thing.  Do not use a mouse pad.  Someone did and the spikes broke off.
You just basically drag the tool... well roll.... and then you sew the design (or create a faux stitch by drawing it in).   I got lucky with this double piercer.  The paper is really thin, so it ripped when I used a different design :-P  So don't use super thin paper (aka: notebook paper).

Shoe Drama

Went to the mall to buy my Hello Kitty purse...walked by the Vans store and saw the shoes!  The hardest part was debating which one to get... but Hunny convinced me to get the shoes.  So, I went back to the mall and found that they were sold out of my size.   They were even sold out online!  Called up every single mall and they were sold out! ACK!  Found that Journeys online had them so I ordered a pair.  I was soooo happy when the UPS guy showed up with my box.  I got size 7 alright...size 7 in men!!!! ACK!  Apparently Vans is a unisex co.  I was sooooo mad and soooo sad.  A couple of days later, I found that Hot Topic.com carried the shoes.  So I ordered size 5 (6.5 in women).  Once it came in, it fit perfectly... I am one happy girl! :-)

What benefits allows us to do...

Get our wisdom teeth pulled!  *or as KevJumba puts it... stupid teeth*
My Hunny got all 4 pulled and I got the top two pulled *bottom two pulled 3 years ago*
