Weekend Update
Attempted to make some layouts tonight. I was happy that I had time to sit down and scrap. My Hunny bought me season one of Arrested Development (YaY). But my creative juice was not there. I made some layouts, but they sucked in my opinion.
My Hunny took me out to Sizzler this past Sat. I wanted to get the steak and lobster (mmhh... lobster). But we could not use the coupon because it was already $10 off. I said that sucked aloud... yes I did! Instead, I got the steak and endless shrimp. It was not meant to be.

Decided to go to CKC - Pasadena
Why? Well... I've never been to CKC... The main reason is that June 12th is my last day of work.... I will be sad... but if I go to CKC that Saturday, scrapping will cheer me up! :-) Therefore, I only plan to go on Saturday:
1. Everyday Life (Technique Tuesday)
2. 2009 latest and greatest Basic Grey
3. A peek into my week

Sunday update
Did things this past three days, yep. :-P But on to the pictures first!
For my math class, we learned to do different kinds of tessellations. This is a rotational tessellations. After I traced my stencil... I saw death, you know the grim reaper. But I thought, that was a bit morbid... so I threw in angels. Not bad. Yes... I am paying $2000 for school, to do this....
Here I am, on my way to some place. I don't remember. But I have horrible complexion.
Here is a card I designed. The circle flower was Prima inspired. I did this with a sixth grade class and a one-two combo class. The kids really enjoyed it. They were scared to crumble the circles. I guess it was out of the norm for them.
Friday... well, it was my friend's birthday (Downey). I met up with him at Disney and convinced him to get an annual pass. He used his free birthday ticket as the down payment and got the southern California pass. He is doing the monthly payment plan. He will be paying $8.75 a month!
Saturday.... took the 20 layouts class with Jennifer Priest at Scrappin Table. I really enjoy her projects and ideas. I always learn something new from her. For example, something that I should know but I just don't think of it...... is to put glue dots in the middle of flowers and sprinkle glitter on it. DUH! I always use liquid glue. :-P This class was Prima endorsed, so everything was Prima. Now I have 20 layouts, just need to add pictures.
Sunday.... hung out with me Hunny. He worked on the Saiga for a bit. Watched Sex in the City with his mum. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!! We watched Sex in the City (the movie). I would have never watched it! EVER! It's alright. Good chick flick. :-) Love the outfits on one of the girls, Miranda?

Some scrap related news
Yesterday was National Scrapbook Day, I shopped... I cropped at home...... but on to the pictures!
This past Friday was day one of Reflections by Scrapbook Oasis. There were classes during the day and an event in the evening called Isle of Carnival (I think that is the name), which was open to the public for a small fee. Shop and Make n Take! So, I went. Was soooooooooooo tempted to sign up for the event, but alas, need to save money. (which I did not do, since I decided to buy the Slice today and signed up for a 20 layouts class at Scrappin Table). The make and takes were cute (as seen above). I painted, I sewed, I wired (sounds weird), I altered. There is more, but I still need to put it together.

I met Eric Carle today!
I picked Nate up this morning and drove the lovely 405 freeway to UCLA...Found the Register book where Eric Carle was going sign books. Soooo.... I stood in line for about 30 min. Bought a book.... only to be told that he was signing merchandise only. DOH! The booth that was selling merchandise was far. I was told that he will sign books at a different signing, at a different booth. So, I decided that I would take a picture with him. I noticed that they were not allowing this. So (yes, another so... just imagine me rambling... after all, this is a blog), I got out of line and sat down in the tent because Nate was still waking up and we were standing in the sun. A nice lady came and sat next to me. We chit chatted for a bit. People came up to thanked her for her wonderful husband. She was Eric Carle's wife. :-)

So... I walked around a little. Found the Target booth. Went and got some food.... then decided, to hang out in the area. Found out that (around 12:30ish) people were starting to line up for the Eric Carle signing. So I said screw it, bought some books and waited in line for about 2.5 hours. But, I was able to meet up with my sister's friend and got my be-lated Christmas present from China. A Hello Kitty keyboard and mouse! Woohoo! And some really nifty cross-stitching patterns and a cute skirt. While waiting in line, the ladies in front of me scrapbooks! What are the odds. :-P

So.... once it was time, we were told that Eric will only sign one book per person. I had three (The Very Hungry Caterpillar). DARN IT! But I said... well I am a person and Nate is a person, so that is two books. The lady in front of me volunteered to take my other book. :-) So I got all three books signed... two regular hardback (I plan to give one to my school's librarian) and one pop-up book. Due to time and stuff.... Eric wasn't able to write "to Tran." :-( Oh well...

And Nate has own copy of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." Board version. :-)
