LO's

Just some latest layouts that I've done. The "California" was an idea I got off of someone's LO that I saw in one of the many mags that I read. I thought it was cute and my little cousin was around. So I figured, hey why not?! I finally made a LO about me working at the Jungle. I just need to work my mini-album of the Jungle Cruise.

Remy

Linda brought home a new puppy. Her roommate couldn't keep it, so now we get to have a new doggie. She is really cute! :-) Kiki has a new playmate now. :-)

Updating

I finally pop in the Korn CD I bought. Yes... not so great. Didn't quite like any song on the cd. Nothing too catchy. But I still love their old stuff! :-)

Well... art camp is over. I made cute mini-albums for the teachers and Melanie and Maria... wished I took pictures of it to post it and keep it on record... oh well... Will start scrapping but right now my main goal is to really try and finish my CKU album, "Happy Things." I just need to take one more set of pictures. Pictures of french fries!! :-) But this month is pretty free for me to scrap. But I am trying so hard to get sub shifts right now because I will be hurting for money pretty soon! No paychecks for a while. :-(

Also... still no teaching job for Tran. :-(

Tammy and Phillip Visits

So they came and visit for a week last week. I have not seen them for over three years.... yes I think that's correct. My little Phillip used to love, I do mean love, to draw pictures and give them to me. Here he is, I ask me to draw a picture for me. His reply "I can't draw" and he looked sad.... WHAT HAS TEXAS DONE TO YOU?!?!?!? Or what have the mean kids or a comment a teacher had made that crush your artistic soul. SO sad... But I did get him to scrapbook with me. He made two layouts. They were pretty cute.

Kwikee Mart at 7-11! So Tony and I went to 7-11 for the Simpson stuff... There was Homer's donut, Buzz cola, and squishee!!! Pretty dang spiffy!
Hhmm... for some odd reason... my title bar is not working... so here it is "Art Camp.. Day 2"

Today was the second day of art camp at CSUF. Eunice is not there this year because she is getting married! YaY! :-) Just about everyone is back, besides Cindy, Eunice and Chad. This years camp is pretty small. Lots of usual students. I'm a Camp Assistant, so not as much pay as the teacher assistant, but that's ok. I like it because I get to wonder a lot more! So hard to stay in one spot.

July 6th

July 6th was my last day at Disney (again). It is always so hard to say good-bye to friends. I went into the park early to enjoy it again. I rode on as many skipper boats as possible, just to hear them. So yea... sad. One thing I noticed in my pictures... there are a lot of guy skippers... or I just know a lot more guys skippers... plus most of the lady skippers I know were not there...oh well. So my last shift, I had guest control. Not bad. I was able to redo my last day at Jungle. RJ did a shift change with me so I had Jungle one more time. My official one was on Sunday, but that day just plain sucked because the guests sucked. Wed. was much better! :-)

Evan Almighty

I saw Evan Almighty today. They stuck with the who biblical idea of Noah's Ark, but in a modern day version. It was an ok movie. I like the overall theme of the movie. In order to help change the world, everyone should at least do one act of random kindness. I like it.

Did some actual scrapping today. Neck was actually very tired very quick. But I had a bad cramp on it since I slept on it funny a couple of days ago. So it sort of hurts to look up. Below is a pic of my latest LO. This is a double page spread.

Me and My Goodies!

Oh yea!

Day 3: Album Track (Happy Thing)

Technically it is day four for me if you count the bus tour. But day two, my throat felt a bit irratated. By today, I was sneezing non-stop, had not energy and just felt beat! My body could not take it. ggrr...

Went to my album. Got a spot, then had to leave to sign in Larry's friend. But when I came back, they were still organizing things. So I didn't miss out much. A lady at my table decided that she did not want to do this album and went to do another album! THAT IS SOOOOOO NOT FAIR FOR THE OTHER PEOPLE WHO WANTED TO DO THIS TRACK, LIKE MY FRIEND JEANETTE!!! I thought that was very rude and inconsiderate of her.

We got a ton and I do mean a ton of goodies!!! Made people jealous! :-P Michelle had a stamp buffet set up for us to use. All she asked is that we do not steal her stamp and please clean after every use. I was irritated because people DID NOT clean after each use and they left a mess!!! I do hope nobody stole her stamps.

By midway, I was extremly tired. I had pasta for lunch to try and get energy but that didn't work really. So I put together and stampped things that needed to be stamp that I could not do at home so I could finished the album. Then by 5, I cleaned up and left. Oh yea, got a cute tote bag.

Outside, while waiting for commencement at 6, I sat on one of the chair just trying to nap. My head hurts and I was just plain exhausted. Commencement was nice. I got my diploma. I got my Bachelor in Scrapbooking. :-P

All in all. I had a blast... would definately do it again! That is if they will have it again... :-(

Day 2: Classes

I got to the Marriot around 8:20. Actually on the ART I met another CKUer on her way to the Marriot. She did the same exact thing as I was doing, except she was parking at the structure. Gotta save that $20 a day!!!

My first class was with Michelle Hill, a Garden of Idea. Very cute, lots of goodies! From this point on, whenever I see her name, I am jumping in and taking her classes! We made a cute little 4x4 chipboard album. We used many techniques such as making a butterfly using your flowers!

Next was Purple Cow, Ana Cabrera. She was very funny! Which I love for it being early. Keep me wide awake. The project concept was really cute, but I think we could've done more. Plus we didn't really get letters to put in the mini album. The chipboard album did not make and she said she will mail them to us later on. But I love Ana's energy! We used Purple Cows new free hand cutter, it has a track if you wanted to use it. It is a neat tool... but I'm too anal and need things straight. Plus she showed us how we could make a clear card using the laminate plastic. I love it!

Lunch... pizza... boring!

Next up was Becky's Sketch class. Lots of stuff to use for our project. I love her style of scrapbooking. Clean and simple. She had us sketch the layout... well that was something I have been doing before. Also, someone said that she did not have hand out at Detroit. So I had my notepad out and ready... but she had hand outs for us. Live and learn. :-) But I like her class regardless.

Tim's class was next. We made mini scrapbook pages and turned them into necklaces!!! VERY COOOL! Guess what people will recieve this year for Christmas. :-P Also, guess what I did after class at the bookstore...

Lastly was the Fancy Pants class. The ladies teaching was either tired or just plained annoyed. No energy or enthusiasim. So I just covered my one part of my chipboard album and just sat there. Kind've wished Ana was in there are the moment to wake me up.

Jeanette and I met up and we had dinner at the cafe. We had soup, some comfort food and fries! :-P Must not forget the junk food.

When we got to the crop, they had goodies. I thought they only gave it out on Thursday and that was it. That's what it said on the website. So, of course I did not have my ticket. So I had to wait the next the to pick up my goodie. Stemma played a game of musical scrapbooking. Sort of like musical chairs... but with layouts. It was extremly fun and it woke us up! :-)

CKU Day 1 - The Make and Take

So I decided to be there like 3 hours early. I heard from others that registration could be crazy and that lines would be long. The make and takes would be just as worse, the ones with popular celebrities would have really long lines. So I my plan was to hit the big names then everyone else. I wanted to do ALL of the make and takes. So... in the end, I managed to hit 25. I believe that's how many there were, but I don't know for sure. Lil Davis (Michelle Hill) was a hit. The page was very cute and lots of goodies from them. At Making Memories, I was disappointed with their layout. Not too great at all. But they gave us little purse. :-D So that made up for it. At Tim Holtz's table, I learned to use the ink dabbers. And I like it... so guess what I end up buying? :-P Scrapbook Oasis, Every After and the Oasis had very cute layouts... Oh yea, must not forget about the Scrapbook Depot. I think the LSS made the most fabulous layouts. Especially since they pay to be a part of CKU. I heard from a LSS (they were not involved this year) that the last time they signed up for CKU it cost $250 just to put their name in the ad thingy!!!!! Let see here, did Becky's make and take, it was cute. She did not have the brads for her page so we picked it up the next day. Rusty Pickle was nice. I learned to incorporate a digital designed page to a scrapbook page... what was it called... oh year hybrid. So I thought that was cool. In the end, did the page by Stemma. It was and ok page. We put it all in a bazzil album, but there weren't enouch pages so I had to put more pages in it at home. Skinny Cow was there giving out ice cream bar! I wish I like ice cream...

So... I was the first one to register and the first one in. I was cheering as I was running into the make and take room. :-P Also, I forgot to mention, we were swapping tags and ribbons. Not a lot of people swapped tags. I made like 28 and only swap a little less than half. I swapped a tag and a few ribbons for chocolate that came all the way from Switzerland! Gave the chocolate to my boyfriend, I don't like chocolate. Around 4 was the big paint can swap. We set our cans down and walked in circle. Well.... to be honest, the can I got was ok.... There were a lot of really great cans though. As I was walking over to do my calendar swap, a person (can't remember her name) didn't make it to the swap one time, so I was being nice and swapped her can. The can was not too super either... no treat. poo. At the calendar swap, everyone showed up by October. There were a lot of nice pages... made mine look like poo. But I worked pretty hard on it with the little time I had. I hand painted the flowers and hand colored the flowers and stuff... poo. I turned in my card for the greeting card swap. I think my card came out fantastic though. I like it.

Once again, I went to the Oasis. They had food!!! I was extremly happy because I did not want to do the double shuttle to get to my car and drive out. Plus I met Jeanette. She talked me into going. The food was great and it filled me up. Plus did a little more shopping at the Oasis. Thanks you for feeding us Scrapbook Oasis! You will now and forever be #1 in my book! :-D

Barely made it back to the Tailgate party. The dorms were doing their thing. We had Cowgirls, Chiefs and Scrappy Cat Dolls. All were very cute! We got a goodie bag with some goodies. Not really memorable goodies really, but got a 9' trimmer/laminator from the Purple Cow. Which is pretty cool... but I don't have a use for a 9 inch trimmer since I do 12 inch scrap pages... oh well... something for the garage sale I guess.

The campus crop was fun. I met more celebrities. All of us non-dorm pirates got together. That was when I got my treasure from the treasure hunt! Thanks again Charity and all of the gals who contributed to the loot. I would say that was the best prize I recieved from the event. :-D Took a dorm picture. But I didn't stay too long because I was tired and wanted to rest for the next day.... which were my classes! YEA!

Happy Fourth of July!!!

Or as my Canadian puts it, "Happy America Day!"

Today was officially last day in the Jungle. It was actually this past Sunday, but AJ needed a shift change so I said yes. Plus my last boat this past Sunday was pretty horrible and I didn't know a lot of people on the dock. So today was a lot better than this past Sunday. Plus a lot of my friends where on the dock. I was able to say good bye to all.

CKU!!!! AAAAHHHH!!!!!

Wow!!! I was a CKU virgin... but no longer am! YEA! But I am a bit sick though from the experience... my body couldn't take it... but lets start at the very beginning... I may put this post in several post because I want ot post a lot of pictures and I don't think this blog will let me do it.

Tuesday.... I was excited... couldn't sleep.... had to get swaps done!

Wednesday... didn't get much sleep. We were meeting around 6:30. I was afraid that I would oversleep, so I kept on waking up every hour. I got there at 6, and I was the first one there in the lobby. So I sat and listened to music, about 10 minutes later, a few other ladies showed up. Jessica, Alison, and Nam came down with boxes. In it were goodies for us! YaY for goodies! We got a paper holder and in it was a pattern paper made specifically for the trip. Oh yea, by the way, these ladies did a super job and I was sooooooooooooooooo glad that I decided to go on the the bus tour. It is a must!!! And these ladies got a lot of sponsors to donate stuff. I say, hip-hip-hooray to the ladies! :-) Now back to the event. My bus (the Jessica Rabbit bus) arrived a little late, but thank goodness we had no traffic all day!

The first stop was at Scrapping Good Times in San Dimas. They had a cute make and take for us. I spent a lot of money there. They also gave us a tote bag with a water bottle. If we had the bag and bottle at the CKU's make and take and stop by the Strictly booth, we were recieve a bracelet (and I did...hehe). Got a whole bunch of goodies on the bus, such as stickers and My eye book. I like it and may get one for next year, year in review album. Also, needed to add that Scrapping Good Times fed us. Food makes me happy.... hey I need to put that in my Happy Things Album.

Next stop was to Timeless Treasure. Nice place, lots of stuff. I got myself a Heidi Swapp 9x9 album with paper kit they put together for $17.50!!! They had a father's day card make and take.

Afterwards, the surprise was a visit to the MAMBI warehouse. Very cool! For $25, MAMBI gave us a $75 value pack (with really good stuff). For all of the money they had recieved they will donate it all and also match it and donate it to CHOC hospital! Very cool!

Next up was Angel's Garden, home of the Zutter. They gave us a really cool tote bag. It has a crazy lady in the front that says "Scrapping Nut" or something like that. I like it! Can't wait to use it. hehe Because that is all me! They had a dollar section for us to go crazy for. Oh yea... everything was 30% off to us!

Next is Red Bee. They had sales and goodie bags for us. I love mat papers... so they had a DCWV stack on sale... buy two get one for free... well you can guess what I bought!

Lastly was Strictly Scrapbooking. My LSS!! Oh yea! Lance was there for a cute mini-file folder album, with a pirate theme. They also had another make and take, a door handle thingy (can't think of what it is called) using the Mariah Johnson's paper. It is soooo pretty!!! They had goodie bags for us and a raffle for a really big prize. They were great! :-)

So yea... I did a lot of shopping and got a lot of things! Thanks Jessica, Nan and Alison! You ladies rock!

Oh yes... I met a lot of ladies from the board. It was nice putting a face to a name. My seat partner was Sheila who has cute kid name Fox. :-) (I think it is a spiffy name by the way!) For a short time it was Hailey.

Afterwards, Sheila and I decided hey, lets hop on the limo to the Oasis. And did exactly that! My other LSS! Alright! They had a really, really, really, really, cute good bag they have out to all of CKU students for stopping by and shopped there. It is made out of felt, but hand made by them. And it is soooooo stinkin' cute! Yes Karen, I am going to sport it! :-)

Ok.... well... I have stuff to get done right now... so I will talk about day two later.

Hair cut!

So I went and got my hair cut short today! Woohoo! Just in time for summer! :-) I went to the beauty school in Anaheim. I had enough hair to donate to locks of love. Since I was donating the hair, my hair cut was free! woohoo. :-) I felt so much light too. I tried to was my hair tonight, I am not used to the short hair. :-P But it dries so much quicker! :-)

I went on the Nemo submarine ride today. It was pretty cool! Actually I must say I love it. The ride is 15 minutes long and there will be no fast pass. So that means... lines will be about two hours long!!!!

Pirates

Worked the world premiere today. Very crazy!!! Saw a lot of stars. The first one was Marc something, the guy who played Mr. Cooper. I saw Ian and that Olympic guy from dancing with the stars. Saw Michael Chad Murrey, Kobe Bryant, Vanessa Robison-Pete, The Cheetah Girls, Terry Hatcher, Carlos form Desperate Housewives, Roy Disney, and many more, just can't think of them. I also saw Chow Yan Fat, Orlando and JOHNNY!!!! Johnny was last, it was pretty crazy when he came out. Orlando forgot to X-Y-Z and saw him caught that. He He!

Took this picture on my cell phone... got in trouble but oh well.
