Wow.. Russia?

Blogger added a stat section.  According to the stats, there were three views (don't know when) from Russia! Pretty darn nifty!

My New Ride

Earlier this month, we got a new car.  It is a 2012 Toyota Corolla Sport.  And I LOVE IT!!!!  It is hot!  Thought about getting a used car...but I needed a car that will last *FOREVER*  My originally Corolla was new and it lasted 7 years (would've lasted longer if I did not get into an accident).  Plus, you never know what the original owner did before they traded or sold the original car.  No matter how much they inspect it, it can always break down later.  It happend to my friend's parent -_-

Spring Break (week two)

I spent a day in L.A. with the hubby and sis.  We had a huge list of things to do....yea...we only did half of it.  :-P  First, we ate some yummy dim sum and walked around China Town.  Next, we went to Olvera St.  Always heard about it, never seen it.  It was pretty neat.  Lots of shops.
Went to the art district and got some pie at Pie Hole and beer at some German beer place.  I drank water...out of a box :-P

Did some DDR in Little Tokyo.

I originally had plans to go to Pages from the Heart to meet with a friend and crop.  It was raining pretty hard that day.  But I was driving safely...plus there were traffic on the freeway.  Right as I was getting close and traffic cleared, someone lost control of his car and cut in front of me.  Was not able to stop.  :-(  So...have to deal with this unwanted mess.
Went to Stamp of Life stamp class the next day (thanks to me sis for driving me, she's the best!).  Love their stamps and dies!
I actually made a layout for my class at Michaels.  Need to take a pic of it and post it.  (once again, thanks to me sis for driving me).  So hard not having a car.  But the Hubby have been driving me to work.

My new hair-do

For my birthday, my sister took me to Aveda to get my hair done.  I have been talking about coloring my hair for  awhile.....just never did it.

Yes... I now have some highlights (brown) and bangs.  :-)
BTW...saw Hunger Game.  It was pretty good.  Just need to finish the book now. :-P

I'm 30 today! :-)

Notice?  Hello Kitty banner!  Woohoo!!! The love of my life gave me a Hello Kitty themed birthday.  :-)  And my awesome sis took me out to get my hair done *another post! :-)*
My family and friends.  :-) Oh... we ate at Jazz Cat.  Yummy food, but was very annoyed at the wait!!!

And I got my typewriter!  woo!!! Just needs to be cleaned and oil and it will be awesome!

Babysitting the boys

Just been pretty busy lately.  Yearbook was due on the 30th...and of course, I always like to things the night before because I like pressure...so I did it the night before...well, I spent a week on it.  The hardest part was collecting pictures.  But I managed to finish the book.
I decided to the project from my previous post.  I took of the picture and will mat it instead.  It looks funny without one.

Other than that, watched my two favorite boys.  They really liked the dogs.  Especially Tristan.  :-D  Still am so happy that Nathan would call me by my name.

I made something! :-P

This project was inspired by Donna Downey.  I was suppose to take her class at CHA.  But I promised Jen that I would help her with her class.  So I just went in, looked at the project, grabbed the kit and left (yes, bad....).  So this project is very similar to hers but my own twist.  Originally, you were suppose to do the project on a canvas and attach it to a regular canvas...but the canvas was not big enough so I decided to create my project on the canvas itself.  The background was done with Faber-Castell gelatos.  I outlined the edge and used my foam brush and "water-colored" with it.  So instead of an intense color, it went lighter.  Then I put gelato on a foam stamp... tried to stamp...but failed.  (You can't stamp on canvas, the surface is not flat.)  So it wasn't a nice impression (put gelato on foam, brush some water to spread/blend ink).  Instead I drew in the image and used a water brush to create a water color effect.  Added the canvas banner and put some lace on the edge (Donna originally used register paper...but didn't want to use that).  Put some moss in the middle and a butterfly (Prima).  Thought I was done but it looked too bare so I added more Prima flowers.  Overall... I really like working with the Gelatos.  Can't wait to do more with it.

Glitterfest

Went to Glitterfest today with Jen and some kiddos.  Handed one of them my camera.  Kids have interesting perspective with it comes to taking pictures.  :-)  It's either blurry or some really close shots.  But came out great.

Glitterfest was nice.  Lots of great hand made artists.  I bought a cute pair of earrings.  *support your fellow artists!*

January in review

Went to Disney with my sis and danced with Goofy! :-P

Took this little guy to the zoo and Travel Town to check out old trains.  :-)
Went whale watching.  We saw a whale this time.  The whale didn't come up...well we saw bits and parts of him.  I want to see the whole tail! :-P

Celebrated Chinese New Year and went to Tet festival.

Also went to CHA!!!! :-P

Ok.. I'm done

No more CHA post.  I have more pictures...but people can probably find it on the company's blog.

Ribbon cutter

Imaginisce has a new tool that cuts ribbon.  It also "burns" the edge so it doesn't fray.  I forgot the name of this device....

Here is the wire.  It heats up, cuts, and seals the edge of a ribbon.

end result...ta-da!
I like this little device!  yes, I can use fray-check...but it takes forever to dry...plus it doesn't create a clean edge like this.

Creative Imaginations

Took the class where we played with Luminaire Art product.
Did you know this album has a thingy in the back so it can stand up? :-P
They came out with a new product called Primary elements.  Where you dip your brush in it and dip it into their powder and paint on slick surfaces.
